It's no longer 100% negative, but I'd hesitate to say it isn't still more of a negative than a positive. Warlock, however, never really had another meaning. It means "liar", that's its root. The roots of Witch seem to have a lot of possible meanings. Conjurer, Necromancer, Seer, to sacrifice.
