The beauty of this game is that if the public tally shows the player with the most votes is not lynched, then you have some suspects as to who is on team (Rock, Paper, or Scissors) when the allegiance of the lynched player is revealed.

Sorry if some of my suggestions seem like incomplete ideas. I am very much an idea man, so refining is often required.
Ravnica: City of Wolves has the "everybody has a secret allegiance and wants to kill their enemies" concept, although it implements it in a very different way than your proposal.
