There was a fun 3.5e Paladin... **** it, it's an archetype from Dragon, which was the Despot. Lawful Evil, like the PoT, but LAWFUL above evil. The Ends Justify The Means. Protect the citizens.
I particularly liked it because the fluff was really close to the Purple Dragon's MO so I kind of wanted to play a Half-Purple Dragon Despot at some point.
