She shakes her head. That this was delivered by someone else didn't seem to bother her -- or maybe she didn't notice. She did not look at anyone, so maybe it was just a form of talking to herself.

"...That's not talking about the determination, the l-love, the memory like craving that drives salmon up waterfalls..." At last, she lifted her head a little, and said to Amaranth, "It must be sad, and kind of happy -- not remembering."

"For me, it's mostly sad." Amaranth says.

"I wouldn't know. I've never been able to forget even the tiniest detail. And I can honestly say, I prefer it that way." The other person says.
