Gwynfrid, I hope I am not taking too many liberties with Vershab's knowledge regarding the religions mentioned. His modifier using Knowledge (Religion) is a +13, so I assumed these sorts of things would be fine.

No problem.

Is the mask something that would be left out of respect, or is its value enough to override the rituals? He would advise the party of the answer and encourage them to handle the mask in such a way.

This is a gray area. A true Pharasmin would leave it in place. But then, a true Pharasmin would likely hesitate before participating in the expedition in the first place. So, it is truly your call.

After paying their respects to the dead, as much as can be expected from people who just robbed that same dead's tomb, the companions gather their treasure at the bottom of the shaft, preparing to climb back to the surface.

It is at that time, in the now stuttering light of the dying sunrod, that Calathon, looking up the shaft, discovers a disturbing sight.
