As the owlbears turn tail and run, Stern turns to strike out at them, his sword hopefully fully finding its mark this time. Unfortunately, for his troubles, the Yuan-ti's blades find a crack in his armor, leaving a nasty gash down Stern' side. Undeterred, he simply grits his teeth and begins singing all the more loudly, starting into a proper battle hymn. And then, with rage in his eyes, he hefts his sword, and swings it down in a crushing blow at the Yuan-ti.

"Viderunt oculi mei,
victoris gloriam, domine!
Vicit Vespillo's verrat,
scio percutit cordam!"
