Don't get me wrong, if you find you're making a mistake, and it could make things better to correct it, then by all means correct it. But if you're having fun, and you're playing your games and everything is going swimmingly, mistakes or no, it doesn't matter. What matters is you're gaming. Mistakes are house rules, nothing more, nothing less.
Mistakes are things that negatively impact the gaming experience. If you then write them off as, or turn them into, house-rules, which is unfortunately common, then you're not making things better. You're making things worse.
