There's a Greek philosopher Zeno of Elea once formulated a paradox about movement (dichotomy paradox):

Suppose Homer wishes to walk to the end of a path. Before he can get there, he must get halfway there. Before he can get halfway there, he must get a quarter of the way there. Before traveling a quarter, he must travel one-eighth; before an eighth, one-sixteenth; and so on.

So in the example Homer an never reach his destination since he has an infinity amount of tasks ahead.

This was a filler update, completely pointless. The entire text can be summed up to "Parson is ready to finish the spell. The golem moves." In the last text update we at least get filled in what Jack did in the meantime, and it's revealed to Maggie and Jack that Charley is manipulating events.
