Let me clarify the question. I grappled a prone creature. On the enemy's turn, he attacks me. Then on my next turn I cast sanctuary. On the creature's turn, it tries to break grapple. Do I lose sanctuary? Obviously, you would want to do this all in 1 turn, but I wanted to know if maintaining grapple matters.
I don't want to get into shoves that make a creature prone.
