    As someone with similar habits, I sympathise. A few good basic low-impact options are walking, cycling & swimming, although you may find cycling puts other strains on your back. If you can get into some green space for an hour or so and walk, it can do wonders, not just for your back, but general mood too. If you can, drag a friend out with you.

    While they are not needed, you can look at getting a walking pole (or pair). I have rheumatoid arthritis, and when it is flaring up and my ankels are stiff, or I've just strained a muscle or something, it can make a real difference. Also helps you go further & work more muscle groups.
