The pigeon...coos. It is not, in fact, a talking pigeon. Or an intelligent pigeon. It does however hop onto Raril's hand and look inquiringly at him.

The bag is slightly heavy. Inside is a single gold coin and a note explaining it originated from some kind of magic shadow. The note requests the coin be checked for magic effects, with Raril keeping it as payment if it's safe. It's signed by Candace, a minor minstrel around the Nexus.
