I assumed when my computer offered to "update and shut down" that it would do so in that order. I told it to do that before bed. Now, ~12 hours later, I turned it on and it started updating. I am posting this using a broken noodle as a stylus for my 3ds.

Doesn't it download the updates, shut down, and then install them when you restart?
