The doctor pauses his work, growing much less frenetic as he becomes deathly calm while silence pervades the room. He steps back away from the beargon, turning towards Sophie with narrowed eyes while he wipes the scalpel clean on his lab coat. It's not a threatening move. He's too far away to make any reasonable attempt at anything with it. Rather, it's a method of transition for him, to separate from the unfinished surgery. He puts the scalpel down on the table nearby holding all the important operating tools.

"IT," the doctor begins by correcting her mistake with emphasis of his own, "Is a monster. I am Doctor Xeyal. This is my home. Your turn. Why do you care, why are you here, and how did you get here?"
