I'm enjoying the world building in the last few pages, especially that we have a new type of creature that aren't just different-looking humans.

What are the odds that Curtis doesn't want Salvador to find him?

Yeah. No bet.
Not even with Monopoly money.
Not even with someone else's Monopoly money.

Somehow I don't think Mr. Short's story has much in common with the truth.
Whatever reason he really wants to find Curtis for, I doubt he has ghost boy's best interest at heart.
