The Bridge

Sirin's mental construct emerged upwards, bracing the underside of the bridge. Though small pieces of asphalt and metal still tumbled loose, the listing roadway was able to stabilize for the time being, though the strain of holding up such a massive and unbalanced structure was palpable. Her focused will wouldn't last forever, but it could at least buy time enough for the civilians to clear the area and find safety on solid ground.

From your elevated position, you could see over the immediate skyline of the city. While none of the buildings seemed to have collapsed, there was an ominous cloud of black smoke begining to rise up over the skyscrapers, close to the prominent spire of the Chrysler building.

Time Square

The ancient warrior-king, upon entering the cloud, would likely be grateful he'd had the foresight to hold his breath, for the noxious fumes bit at his exposed soft tissues, with his eyes suffering the worst. The Skrull, however, having been a veteran of intersteller travel, would find the gas a bit more tolerable, though nothing could be done to stop the smell. Sulfur was most prominent, along with spilled sewage, probably from a torn pipeline somewhere underfoot.

The two were, for the moment, the only individuals inside the gas cloud that were still ambulatory. Tourists and residents of the city alike lay where they fell. Some stirred slightly, coughing and trying to cover their eyes as the fumes went to work. Others had already lost even that, and were motionless. It was hard to get a good estimate of numbers, the yellow smog smothering the land and was nearly opaque in places, but the sound of hacking coughs and moans of pain were enough to estimate at least several dozen were caught.

The larger problem, though perhaps not the most urgent, was that the crack from which the smoke poured out was still spreading, inching down the roadway in fits and starts, and steadily widening as the ground continued to shift.

Beowulf, due to the smoke you are currently visually impaired (-2 to checks requiring vision) and will need to make further fort saves while inside the cloud.

Both of you can make perception checks to locate survivors within the cloud if that is what you want to do. I'll also allow Expertise (Chemistry), Treatment, Or Intelligence Checks to get an assessment as to the effects of the gas.

Near The Subway

The officer, at first, didn't look to see who they were speaking to, as their attention was directed at a clipboard in hand. Yume could see it was a underground map showing the network of tunnels under the city, along with the subway system and electrical wiring, though only the general layout was apparent to her, the rest being technical schematics. The officer barked into their radio for a moment "You're just going to have to hold out, we're still not sure how many units we've got to work with" before he then turned and nearly chocked in surprise at the fox-kami before him. "Uh...y-yeah", he said, unsure of how to proceed. Some mental calculus taking place behind his eyes seemed to be struggling to find a section of police training that covered disaster scenarios and where Japanese spirits fit into the response detail. "There's a train...um, here" he pointed to his map, indicating a spot underground a few blocks away "We think there stuck, and the tunnel might be collapsing..."

Evidently his internal problem-solving method has resolved to just go with the weirdness, if it meant getting another set of hands on the scene.
