He saw the iron hands manifest, in every direction and in every branch of possibility. He knew what was going to happen, but even so, he couldn't help but chuckle. So your higher powers have free will? As the hands flew at him, to grab in every way conceivable, he vanished. He didn't become invisible. He was removed from existence, it seemed like. Eliminating his causal relationship with the universe, as all possibilities for future events that relied on actions the Incirrian Emperor could possibly take, lost the effects of his agency. He was gone, in every sense of the word.

Until he wasn't. As suddenly as he disappeared, his presence within the endless branches of possibility flared back. Apfel himself appearing in front of Alt-Kurumo. Appearing battered, but otherwise unaffected. His arm out in front of him, as he attempted to drive the World Blade directly into Kurumo's chest. Then kneel. He chuckled, thinking of the absurdity of trying to explain what just happened to a creature that had divorced itself from reason, entirely. Though he regretted it immediately, as the chuckling left a sharp pain in his abdomen.

Ack, HFIL, might've cracked a rib. He remarked to himself. Shifting his physical presence into the higher spatial dimensions of possibility was relatively easy. It was moving back into three-dimensional space, without getting dimensionally crushed to death, that was the hard part, and left him injured.

The J-Team

The hard-light barriers were designed to protect against ki-users. Though Coggerra's strength is comparable, the shield held. But between that and the seismic flashbang, it was enough to disorient the soldier, to give the rest of the team a clear exit.

It didn't work completely, since Warlord Ixil could still use his sensors to detect the electricity in their nervous systems.

Once they were clear, the soldier lead Coggerra into a room, before having the entrances and exits sealed shut. The bulkhead opened, as he attempted to vent the pair into space. His armor fully enclosed his body, so he was safe, and he expected the Metalman to be able to survive in a vacuum too. He just wanted the metallic giant physically removed from the battlefield. Even firing several railgun rounds into it, so as to push it away from the ship.
