GW has announced the rotation model for Underworlds. Basically, each time a new season comes out, the universal cards from the previous season but one rotates out. So Shadespire rotates out when Beastgrave comes in, Nightvault rotates when S4 comes out etc.

So far so expected, except the warbands and their warband specific cards remain legal forever.

Naturally, some people over on the GW fb are salty about this, but it seems like a fairly good solution provided you accept a rotation system needs to exist (which it does, as otherwise you get bloat and stagnation in the game, which reduces its ability to be a competitive game). Any models you’ve bought remain useable, but if you want to keep up competitively you probably want to get more universal cards. Newcomers don’t need to start hunting for old universal cards in order to compete.

The main people this screws over are people who bought all of S1 and 2 in order to get all the universal cards. Ideally, this model would have been announced prior to S2 releasing.
