"Okay I figured it was probably something like that," Tristan replies with a nod. "She was fine. She didn't suffer any significant harm and I was able to chase off the rest of the bat-heads. I was able to find some people who can cure the malady the monsters spread, so all the girls will be fine. I escorted them to a safer place while you were deactivated."

"You're still looking for a human owner, right? Is that a directive you have to follow?"

"Not me, Tristan. I don't need that kind of responsibility right now." Jade quickly interjects. "So there's nothing wrong with your functions? If I were to reconnect your systems, everything would be nominal?" Something in Jade's tone indicates she's worried about something, but she's doing a good job of not showing it.

"Besides, you are not human." Green points out. "Your ears are missing and you do not have any surgical markers. You would not be eligible."

"But regarding your inquiry; yes, you should be able to start me up with no trouble. My ON is 1111-11111." She blinks. "...My old owners apparently never took me off factory settings. Perhaps they wanted me to be easy to reboot."
