My best "Door Boss" story was an Exalted group. Magitech door wouldn’t open.

"OK. I’m going to roll War on the door.”

GM: “How does War apply to this situation?”

“I make war on the door.”

GM: “I… Umm… Could you describe what you want to happen?”

“I want the door to open!”

The door did not open.
