Morgana gets better but he is definitely an insufferable existence.

As a character they're fine, my main issue is how they replace the narrator.

Padded cells are, ostensibly, to be used for violent inmates who may harm themselves. It fits quite well with the vibe.

I dunno, Joker at the start of the game doesn't seem self-destructive enough for that. It's a valid direction to take, but they seem to have actually gone with apathetic.
