Imean, I'd argue that if there's a legally recognized process to change your name, regardless of how simple it is that denotes that you have a legal name.

My lack of a legal name laughs at your Idealistic assumption that laws must make sense.

As I said it's a technicality. For all intents and purposes [REDACTED] is my legal name until I change it, but technically I don't have one. You can even avoid the official process if you can get the passport office to accept the change.

Heck, naming laws are loose enough here that I could name a kid 'Help I'm Stuck In A Passport Factory'. Which is probably another reason that I should never raise any.
