It's a few more turns on the staircase in the blinding fog before the steps suddenly stop, forcing a half-trip from the expected descent that is suddenly no longer there. The room is quiet, chill, and also completely filled with fog. Fumbling blind, and banging your shins on a stone bench at one point, you eventually manage to 'map out' the room you're in - about 25ft wide, 30ft long, and with two doors you can find, on two of the four walls. One leads, by your judgement, back in the direction of the 'chest' where the nest was, while the other would lead towards the lion's flank, rather than towards its belly.
