AESHA, THE QUEEN AMARANTHINE, LIGHT OF THE EAST
WHO FED THE THOUSAND PEOPLES OF AN EMPIRE
WHO FORGED THE GREATEST WONDERS OF OUR AGE
WHO KNEW THE SECRET NAMES OF FIEND AND FAE
SHE SLUMBERS HERE, WITHIN THIS HALL OF STONE
ALL YE WHO GAZE UPON HER REGAL TOMB
REMEMBER AESHA, AND HOPE YOUR WORKS
WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR AS LONG AS HERS.

Thus is the epitaph spelled out by the glyphs, repeated dozens of times over the face of the tomb. On the far side of the adamant bridge, an imposing door towers above Yomiko and Rising Echo, an arch fully seven feet in height. No lock or bar holds the door shut–it looks as if it would open at a touch. But then again, the Exalted of the First Age had surer means than locks and bolts to keep a tomb safe.
