There are soy ice creams, though I'm not sure of the taste. Have you ever tried any?

Dad has a milk allergy (not lactose intolerant), so we get a lot of soy. I'd recommend a brand called "So-Licious." Trader Joes carries 'em, I don't know about other stores. Brand matters a lot more than with normal ice cream. Throw on some marshmallow cream and you're hot to trot.
