I think the weirdest thing about it is that V's ponytail makes him look even more masculine to me, but Inky's makes her look even more feminine. Eh, maybe it's just my middle-class American mind sub-consciously making heterosexualism a default in my mind. Or maybe I'm looking too deep into it.

Nah, lots of things effect judgement, and that's basically what this thread shows. Your background can effect it as well as the influence of others.
