I like this idea. How about Dracaena? It's actually a classification of a few different tree species commonly called "Dragon Trees". Looking at the picture you could actually give the Dragon an ability to root itself to the ground and blend into it's surroundings by just staying still, since the picture kind of looks like it could be a dragon holding it's leafy wings up in the air.
