Lyle Bolton

The corpse of the murdered mobster thuds to the ground - the gaping head wound leaking vital fluids onto the asphalt - when Bolton spots the shadowy assailant. He reaches for his nightstick as the assassin raises his gun. He manages to tear it free from his belt when the barrel erupts with flame and Bolton feels, for the second time tonight, what it's like to be shot. The range was too close for him to get out of the way, but he manages to take it in his armored chest; provided it didn't pierce the ceramic plating, he could survive.

As expected, his earlier wound causes him significant pain, and the already broken plate could be a dangerous vulnerability.
