Re: Space Opera: A cruise to Remember (IC)
Romow
I'll do what I can to help Doc, but my area of expertise is more in line with flying a gunboat than actually boarding a hostile vessel, or even search and rescue. He motions to Tamra with his thumb, He'd be more in command in this situation than I would be. Looking right at Tamra he snaps off a salute, Sir!

The ship's stores are open, if there is anything you think you might need for this investigation.

Re: Space Opera: A cruise to Remember (IC)
Tamra
Tamra returns the salute, then smirks. "Much as I appreciate the vote of confidence, I'm more used to making sure a vessel works than captaining one." He looks over at the doctor and nods before looking at the others. "So, how about we introduce ourselves? Won't risk my neck with people I don't even know the names of."A mind without purpose will walk in dark places. - Gideon Ravenor

"Llyrid of the Tarkaden! ISS scout extraordinare, best pilot in seven lightyears of here and consummate gunslinger! Ready for action, and ready for excitement!" Even though Llyrid is small, her enthusiasm, loud voice and wide grin help attract notice.
"So, we gonna go check it out or just sit here and talk?"

On the Bridge
Captain, this is starting to really worry me. That signal hasn't cut off, but they have to know we're here. That means they either can't, or won't, turn it off.
I had the same thought, and it's worrying. Fortunately, it looks like we've got some volunteers to go over and take a look. At least one of them is Star Force.
Star Force? Thank God.
SpoilerAll this info will be passed along, as will the offer to draw basic equipment from ships stores. Now's the time to ask any specific questions you may have. Thanks to Edwin for the Avatar!

Romow
Well, I guess introductions couldn't hurt since I have forgotten most everyones name here that I met at the starport. No offense met, I'm just horrible with names. Anyway, he clears his throat. My name is Lieutenant Commander Salra Romow, Star Force, but please just call me Romow, or sir, he says to Tamra, Commander works just fine sir, or if you wish my call sign is "Ice". And it's a pleasure to met you all... again. he looks at those from the starport on Simurgh V. Looking at Llyrid, I'd be careful of that boast about being the best pilot in seven lightyears. He says with a mischievous grin. I've got over 2000 hours of combat flight time, and I've only been shot down three times.Last edited by Venom; 2009-01-14 at 03:04 AM.

Dr. Erica Amleth
I think so. A large group outside, raring to go, it looks like.
Varying degrees of armsmanship but we've got StarForce personnel, including at least one who specializes in starship design, and a scout who seems eager for adventure.

Well, as I told Dr Ahmlet, my name is David Hardin, and I am an engineer. I've worked in an independent ship for about 20 years.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Good. How do you want to get started? I'm thinking of sending a launch over, but as you know, it can only hold 8 people max, including the pilot. Will that be sufficient? Thanks to Edwin for the Avatar!

Dr. Erica Amleth
I think that should be enough to send this group of volunteers along, whilst we get a Sec team together as back up, no?
Securing the ship must be our priority. Once that's done, if there are any passengers or crew that can be helped, we can do so. Then perhaps, we can continue on our war.
Do you want to speak to the volunteers, sir?

All of you?
Erica looks confused, then smiles
Sir, I'm not volunteering I'm afraid. I know that Russo would like to get rid of me, but...
SpoilerThere are more than eight. Tuesday, Bianca, James, Hardin, Romow, Llyrid, Robert Jennings and Tamra.
And Erica has not combat skills...

Do they have anyone capable of basic medical diagnosis? If not, I'd at least like to have you wait on the launch.

Probably not. All right sir, I'll tag along. I'm a non-combatant, but if they're are passengers in trouble, I'll at least be able to help them somewhat.

that's all I ask. Just stay on the launch, and monitor what is going on. You may want to keep a pilot onboard as well, just in case. Thanks to Edwin for the Avatar!

Re: Space Opera: A cruise to Remember (IC)
Those going to the endangered ship has boarded the launch, and lifted off. The launch flies through space, and quickly docks at an external hatch, the boat bay being occupied by another craft. As the hatch opens, you notice a dim light in the airlock ahead. What do you do?
