Gamma World Adventure 20XD6: IC

[S.K.U.M.M.]

You don't really need to Spot or Search the area; it is pretty apparent that it will be difficult to move around down there. The fallen bridge has made a line of de facto stepping stones across the muck at the bottom of the ravine, but the stones are not turned right side up and crossing them will be a matter of crawling and balancing to get across. It will not be easy. The wall on the opposite side looks easy enough to climb, with plenty of cracks in the concrete and vines and trees to offer plenty of footholds.

"This should be a fun trip. Does anyone have any rope?" Adrian glances around at the rest of the party.

[Rettu Skcollob]

"Uh, yes. I have some in my pack." After some rummaging, Irfan produces a tightly coiled long length of rope. "Here we are. About 150 Feets worth."

"Then we should tie ourselves together for the trip across the bridge, or rather whats left of it." Adrian puts his shotgun back over his shoulder, and uncoils the rope. "Who wants to be in the lead? I will guard the rear of the line." He then begins securing the end of the rope to his waist.

Natsuko walks to the edge and looks down, apparently unconcerned with the height. She looks back over her shoulder at the group and smiles.

[BDEYE]

Dog maintains a safe distance.

Adrian looks to Natsuko, "It seems we have a volunteer, although," he looks to The Dragon, "I'm surprised you aren't jumping to the front of the line." Considering for a moment, Adrian looks about the party, "Then again, we should put the two strongest and heaviest people in the lead and rear in case anyone falls in."

Natsuko stands for a moment in apparent thought. Then she raises her arms above her head and, still unmindful of the precipitous drop half a step away, hops up onto the toes of one foot like a ballet dancer striking a pose. She is not very heavy.

Irfan nearly reels in horror, running up to the woman who was dancing on the edge of a precipice. "Miss! Are you feeling alright?! You mustn't do such a-aaacrap!" Reaching out to grab Natsuko's arm, Irfan slightly overshoots as he steps too far, his feet grinding on the cliff edge as he tries to stop desperately. He begins to topple forwards...

Without even flinching, Natsuko reaches out to grab Irfan's arm to steady him and keep him from falling.

I have to say, that was a pretty amusing move there.

Should I roll a touch attack to grab him? Do I have to roll something to keep him from going over the edge?

Irfan: Master of Suaveness. I'd say not, considering I voluntarily made the move, and it was just to give us a little RP'ing opportunity, but ultimately it's up to S.K.U.M.M.

Doc

Rolling his eyes, Doc helps Natsuko by grabbing Irfan by the scruff of the neck. "I think it's you we should be worrying about, boy."

Natsuko nods sage agreement; her serious frown, almost comical, is quickly replaced by her usual pleasant blankness.

It would be pretty painful to land on the jagged pieces of concrete below, I don't think you want to fall.

Irfan: I suppose you let your buddies stop you from falling off the cliff?

(Just to keep the record straight, Natsuko just struck a pose to illustrate her 'not-heaviness', she didn't break into a jig or anything. )

Irfan lets out a small, involuntary urk as he is hoisted away from the edge. He smiles, nervously. "Eheh, Er, yes. Thank you."

Adrian shakes his head at the pair and approaches Irfan with the rope. "Don't worry Doc, I will keep him from falling."

He hands the rope to Irfan. "Here, tie your self about the waist and pass it on to Doc or Natsuko. The Dragon at the front."

Irfan complies sheepishly, tying the rope about his waist and passing the end to Natsuko.

The Dragon, putting obediance and the safety of others first, ties the rope around his (rather chafing) armor. He pulls it, securing others...and himself. "The rope is secure, healer. Our decent will go without obstalces, for we are the fortunate, and we must go unhindered" The Dragon cheers, waving to Adrian.

Obligingly, Natsuko ties herself to the line with a smile, then passes the rope on to Doc.

Keeping the rope in his left hand, Adrian draws his pistol with his right and prepares for the descent.

[Jokes]

Doc follows suit and ties the rope around his waist. He carefully secures his rifle to his back and makes sure nothing will hinder his descent.

Irfan follows nervously, closing his eyes so as to not look at the steep drop below. He makes sure that his equipment is secure beforehand.

[BDEYE]

Dog watches them as they cross. It will be easy enough to hopscotch after then once they're clear.

Yes, you guys manage to get across just fine. You are now all at the ruined concrete wall; above you is the other side of the chasm.

Doc notices the sound of people talking from somewhere up above. (I rolled a Listen check for all of you, and he is the only one who succeeded; I am assuming he told you all that he hears people talking above you). You are too far away to hear distinct words. The voices are calm, not shouting or angry.

[BDEYE]

Dog waits until the group is occupied crossing, then quickly moves over to the other side of the gulf and crosses in a few quick inhumanly long hops.

Irfan sighs in relief as the crossing is completed without incident, untying the rope around his waist, now that it was no longer needed.
