Hello. Who are you? Are you a new member? Mr. Huggles II and Sparkles the IV fly around Melody and take up defensive positions.

I am a bio-droid. I have Callistus.exe loaded into my hard drive. He is a cyborg who just left the premesis, and is a member of the Good League of Good. He constructed me.

Oh. My name is Melody. and these are Mr. Huggles II and Sparkles the IV. They are my drone guardians. She walks paxst them and offers her hand.

[Chas the mage]

The biodroid shakes her hand.

[Lex-Kat]

Well, I'm going to go back to target practice. You can watch if you'd like. Melody and her entourage go back to Training Room II.

A white bird flies over to Melody and reforms into Uncle Raven. "What's this about a package?"

[Lex-Kat]

A courier from Thorul Ltd. brought a strange package for me. It didn't have a name on it, so I waited, just like you told me. She beams proudly. It's in the main room, by the couch.

"Good girl," he says, giving her a kiss on the temple. "Thorul... that sounds familiar. And not in a good way. I think it might be safest to let one of the drones take it to the detention wing and open it there."

[Lex-Kat]

Which one? I don't want to sacrifice them. She huggles Mr. Huggles.

[happyturtle]

"Not one of yours, dearest," he says, and calls over an unnamed security drone to take the parcel downstairs. "Let's watch from the security room."

When he gets to the security room, he looks up Thorul, and his eyes narrow. "LaRoth used to work for Thorul."

[Lex-Kat]

Melody follows with a sigh of relief. LaRoth? She's the one who attacked Libulel, right? Do you think she works with Alek?

[happyturtle]

"She does. She's the one who returned him to life." He looks at her seriously. "I'm tempted to teleport that box straight down ten miles into the earth's crust. Do you really want to open it?"

[Lex-Kat]

Well, I think we should. It might be something important to know, right?

[Chas the mage]

Diagnostic complete.

Watching through the screen, Raven gives the order for the drone to open the parcel. He has a hand on Melody's shoulder, ready to dive into her mind if needed.

[Chas the mage]

The bio-droid begins looking around.

Contains a decapitated head of a smurf, one Melody will recognise from her home village (feel free to make up who), with the body neatly stored to one side. Someone, a kind villain, has placed a single fire ant on the body, which has been munching its way through the corpse's innards, which smell distinctly of honey. A card reads Lots of Love, ALEK.

Melody falls back. Grand-Pappy!!! Her eyes wide with horror.

Initiating /medicomp.exe... The subject is dead.

Raven takes Melody in his arms and holds her tightly, trying to block her from seeing the image on the screen any longer.

the bio-droid leaves, and the man the bio-droid was made to look like comes in.
Somthing positively dandy just happened, didnt it...
he says with sarasm.

[Lex-Kat]

Melody is held tight, and cries into his chest. Grand-Pappy. *Sobs*

[Chas the mage]

I've never understood peoples connection to blood relatives...

Melody says nothing to anyone. Just continues to cry for her last living blood relative.

Raven doesn't say anything either. Just holds her while she cries.

The cyborg leaves.

Dani comes in and sees Melody crying in Raven's arms, and hurries over.
What happened? What's wrong?

[Vespe Ratavo]

Vespe teleports in, and points at the screen, which shows an open box containing a decapitated smurf that a fire ant has been eating, along with a card reading "Lots of love, ALEK."

He then turns off the screen. You're welcome.

Dani clenches her fists tightly.
So tightly her nails bite into the palms of her hands.
