Grem: I'm not AS, and I don't know many people who have it, but in all honesty, that article was absolutely terrible. Not only was it stupid, boring, and pointless... It was also, I'd imagine, incredibly offensive to people with the syndrome.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Did anyone bother listening to it? Its not meant to be read; its a radio piece.
It seems to be genuine and understandable experience of having a mentally disabled younger brother.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
I'm offended by that article (I just woke up sorry if I'm a bit late for it Gremlin) The symtomes he have actually fits a classmate I had (Autist, had to moove, NOT asberger) plus it had a lot of errors such as saying it's a mild autism, that's wrong. They are related but like yuo won't say a dog and a fox is the same you should not say asberger and autism is.
@Kpenguin: It says "He has Asperger's syndrome, a mild form of autism."
By the way do you have it Gremlin since you read it and reacted that way.Treasured Quotes

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
It's in the spectre of autism but autism and asberger are two different syndromes (the spectre is named so because autism was discovered first and is mst known I think) You can actually have mild and bad autism so it would not ake sence anyway. Asberger also include concentrating on one narrow thing that they know much about but not anything else, this isn't true for me , Lying andGremlin if he has the syndrome.
[wierd fact]Bill Gates have Asberger by the way [/wierd fact]

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
The spectre of autism you mo*o* there's no categories by some reason (I haven't heard of other spectres anyway) If taking it this way I'm not different than you because it also is under personalities. I know they are related and occurs by the same reasons I just said they weren't the same. On another note I think those syndromes are ridiculus since the differences you need for having a syndrome gets smaller and smaller until we ends with everyone having about 50 of them.

Actually, no one has drawn me either, so I share your pain in this matter, Keveak. And I can't do much, as TnD has not yet drawn a comic of TnD and GR escaping sinking Vendetta. In a word, I want to participate somehow

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XVI: Matters of Futures Imperfect
Asperger's Syndrome is under the autism spectrum (Which is a classification, not an ailment, like "Whale" or "Bird") and is a form of high-functioning autism.
Asperger's syndrome is also different for every patient. It's true, I research and rote-memorise a whole bunch of topics, and there probably is a patient that learns nothing but their specific subject, but there isn't a standard case, just a group of symptoms common to the majority.
And being an Aspy, you can believe I'd know this stuff.Last edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2009-01-03 at 09:19 AM.
