I want to fix my vinyl player, my mother has some great albums from her youth that I would like to listen. Apart from that, I play my CD's on my DVD player because all the radios in my house seem stop reading CD's after a while

That... is so cool, why can't my PS2 do that. Yes, I still have a PS2 and a Playstation One.

PS1 was the first console I ever had, then came the gameboy pocket, then the PS2, then my Gameboy SP, then the DS came years later.

Well, the fact that Wii's were as rare as hen's teeth for the longest time didn't help matters any.
'Course, my first console was an Atari...*waves cane*

Ah Atari, I had a game for the PS1 called "Ataris greatest hits" or something like that, it had some really cool games such as warlords and other various Atari games.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
Technically, my first console was also an atari, it was my old man's atari, I was three, but I was feared among the space invaders. A year after my first nintendo appeared, that was a life changing moment for I consider mario 3, battle toads and battle city the bastards who made me take my first steps into geekdom.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
The original Playstation is capable of playing CDs, and the PS2 can be used to play DVDs. So you could connect them to your sound system and get that effect.
I never really had a console. A friend gave me his N64 when he got a Gamecube, and the only thing I ever played on it was Super Smash Bros. But I prefer gaming on the PC. My hands cramp around those silly little controllers, and aside from being able to spread my hands out I like having all the bindings that are possible with a keyboard instead of being forced to use awkward combinations to do things. Besides, it's so much easier to find a good RPG or RTS for a PC.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
I believe Sinistar was one of the games on that Atari Anthology I had for the PS1.
Pretty cool, I enjoyed those games. I also have Midway's Arcade Treasures for the PS2. I enjoy Smash TV way too much.
I also have fond memories of Gauntlet and Rampage.Last edited by Fredthefighter; 2009-01-07 at 02:07 PM.

Anyone here ever played faxanadu? I remember a game called like that from when I was 4. I didnt speaked english back then so I never understood the plot, and considering it was an RPG, I believe it was quite an important part of the game.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
You are too young to really remember the Super Nintendo...
God... the hours I spent on that system. Back when I took the Genesis/Super Nintento debate super serious. I was, of course, firmly pro-nintendo.
And it is weird as hell seeing Sonic games on Nintendo now. When I saw Sonic on Smash Brothers: Brawl, I about died!Last edited by TwoBitWriter; 2009-01-07 at 02:12 PM.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
I associate different relatives with different consoles. I had an uncle who was all about sonic. When I was 8, we spaent hours playing sonic 3, I was always tails and he was always sonic. The first 3D game I played was Virtua Fighter, on a sega saturn he bought me. We were sad that sega saturn's sonic was a 1 player 3D game.

Re: TwoBitWriter's Tubular Tracts of Thought-Talking Random Banter #111
(entering the conversation a little late)
I prefer to buy CDs, and usually that's what I do, but when I only want one song off an album it makes more sense to purchase an MP3. I got them from Amazon. I don't know if they keep a record or not; I should check....
And I think I have most of the music stored on old data CDs. Which is good, because someone stole the CDs out of my car (TWICE, no less) and there's only MP3/WMA copies of them.
@Cutie: I DIDN'T burn the DVD wrong. That's what's so frustrating. Before I did the wipe, I popped it back in and opened the files, just to make sure it was working.
