GLoG 18: It's A Brand New Day

[Darkcomet]

The cat came here to see me, and told me he wanted to die. He let me into his mind to find out why, and I found that an evil lich, Calublufiok, had hidden a memory from him. I brought it out, and... You know the rest.

DC nods.

[happyturtle]

"This cat... he's been controlled by a lich. Darkcomet just uncovered the memories that the lich locked away..." She has trouble talking. Sobbing too hard.

[Admiral_Kelly]

"That sounds terrible." Nora says. "Can we be sure the lich has no further power over him?"

[Darkcomet]

I doubt he'll trust the lich again, if he ever recovers from this.

He doesn't seem too sure, though.

[happyturtle]

"I don't know what to do for him," Turtle says.

[Admiral_Kelly]

"We'll take care of him and get him back to his senses. The damage might not be permanent."

[happyturtle]

"I mean, I don't know what to do for him that will actually accomplish that," Turtle says.

[Darkcomet]

You could call Beit again.

DC heads for the garden, intending to leave.

[Admiral_Kelly]

"We could counsel him. The past can be coped with."

[happyturtle]

"Darkcomet? I think you'd better take that... thing... with you. I don't want Reinholdt anywhere near it. If you can find a way to destroy it, even better."

[Darkcomet]

DC stops and turns around.

I would recommend an artifact weapon, such as GLoG's Spork of Power.

[happyturtle]

"That's a good idea," Turtle says. "I don't want to leave him. Nora, do you think you can try and use the Spork to destroy the star?"

[Admiral_Kelly]

Nora nods. "Yes. Do we still keep it in the same place?" She asks.

[happyturtle]

"Yes, still over the fireplace, though there are defences in place. Since you're a member, they won't activate though."

[Darkcomet]

DC waits, silently.

[Admiral_Kelly]

Nora walks over to the Power Fork. After garbing it, she examines it in her hands having never used it before. She advances back over to the room and attempts to destroy the evil artifact with the spork.

[Reinholdt]

Nora pours the spork's power into a shattering blow against the star. The star, long since heavily fortified by it's own nature and enhancements Calublufiok added strongly resists this, glowing bright red in the process. Pushing, cracks begin to form in the two artifacts.

In the end, as a price for destroying the star, the Spork of Power will shatter.

Turtle rocks Reinholdt and sings to him.

I hope you manage to replace that again.

Then DC starts heading for the garden again.

[Admiral_Kelly]

(( Slight correction - my character's name is Nora, not Kelly. ))

As the evil artifact is destroyed, the Spork in Nora's hand begins to shatter. Magical sparks begin to emit from the object and it practically explodes. The pieces scatter on the floor and Nora clutches her hand which now seems to spasm.

Turtle is still downstairs with Reinholdt, so she doesn't witness the destruction.

[Reinholdt]

((Reinholdt apologies as he tries to figure out what on earth he was thinking when he said Kelly. o.o))

Reinholdt stirs slightly.

[Darkcomet]

DC spots Nora's injury on the way out.

Someone get a med drone!

Then he continues on his way to the garden, knowing he can't do much more.

[Admiral_Kelly]

"Turtle..." Nora looks at the shattered remains and her hand which does not seem to be moving very well. "The spork destroyed itself..."

[happyturtle]

"If it got rid of that horrible thing, it was worth it," she said. "Reinholdt? Reinholdt, can you hear me?"

[Admiral_Kelly]

"I suppose you're right. I'm going to the infirmary right now. My hand feels a bit numb." She walks away from the main room towards the infirmary.

[Darkcomet]

DC reaches the garden and teleports out.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt blinks a bit, still feeling the effects of the drugs before taking a look around quietly.

In the infirmary, Nora will see this guy:



He immediately comes over and begins examining Nora's arm with quiet efficiency. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Peter Raven. My niece is Chelonie, though you would probably know her as Turtle."

If Nora has any way of detecting alignment, she'll see that Raven is Lawful Evil.

Turtle is holding Reinholdt and looking down at him in concern. Her eyes are still red and puffy.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt keeps looking around, kind of as if he was lost, before looking back at Happy. He seems to be letting the sedatives shake off.
