10 seconds gone. If Tilmann isn't got out soon he will drown.

tilmann fights the will to breath, and thrusts his dagger into the ice from underneath.

[Xsesiv]

The ice chips slightly again and your arm jars with a shock against the ice, but the dagger doesn't penetrate.

tilmann begins getting desperate, and tries the spell one more time.

The comet blasts through the ice leaving a huge ragged hole.

tilmann takes a short moment, to compose himself, and walks out slowly, with a slightly smug look, once he emerges he says well... minor set back, but no worries eh? a few moments later he adds slightly more seriously no chance of a fire?

[Xsesiv]

Yeah, good idea, until you get in front of a fire you will lose Toughness at a rate of 1 per minute.

tilmann finds a spot to sit down and takes some of his wet clothes off that are causeing more heat loss than gain.

After 10 minutes, some wood is found but not really enough for a fire, two bodyguards pull out knives and start running flints down them to get what they have lit while the others go for more wood.

Some wood is found and a fire is built for Tilmann.

tilmann in the mean time, starts to jog on the spot gently to get his heat up a little.

After Tilmann is back to full strength from he fire and exercise, one of the bodyguards knocks down a tree over the river and has people cross by it. Two of them carry Talyn's pony between them. After a couple hours' walking past the trees, dark and menacing, concealing so many places to hide, the wind seems to be getting stronger and colder. The Sigmarite Priest drops back and tells you the bodyguards expect there to be a blizzard.

best get ready for it then, we should stop as soon as we find good cover.

After about half an hour, a rocky outcrop on a nearby hill becomes visible and there is hope of finding shelter there.

[littlebottom]

lets head over there. tilmann says, while keeping his eye out for anywhere better if possible.

[Xsesiv]

The journey there takes about another half hour, during which time the flakes of snow are beginning to fall and obscure the view. Once there, a large and well-protected cave area is found and the Kislevites rejoice, popping out a flask or two of kvas.

Some tracks in the snow are noticed, having been made by someone of limited gait relying heavily on a walking-stick.

Nobody is there.

does the cave look....... lived in?

[Xsesiv]

In what way?

[littlebottom]

any indication something has used this to live in? piles of bones? coals left from a fire? a recently put out fire even? tools about the place? animal droppings? etc.

[Xsesiv]

There are coals in several places around the room but they could e from any number of travellers.

tilmann relaxes slightly, but only slightly. he keeps an eye out incase...

And your spirits are not much improves by a loud and very near roar from the cave entrance. A huge cave bear drags himself in and rears on his hind legs, on the offensive.

OK, since apparently it's slowed.

The Ulrican Priest starts to growl, and then to psyche himself up, hitting himself on the head with the backside of his axe and biting the handle. He emits a feral howl.

The Sigmarite raises the hammer he carries constantly and charges the bear. He thumps it a hefty blow, but doesn't do any real damage.

Two bodyguards draw hammers and close in, two pull out throwing knives and loose them at the bear. They go whistling out of the cave mouth.
