Re: Awaiting Madness
Dusk
Not wanting to risk hitting one of his improvised allies with an eldritch blast, Dusk runs back to the group, drawing his falchion as he moves. He carefully avoids the grease area and attacks one of the zombies with his falchion.

Re: Awaiting Madness
The zombie gets in one final attack before turning into a smoldering pile of whatever it was. It attempts to slam into Paul (1d20+2)[15] damage (1d6+1)[2]
As you look around you are outside a cemetary. The two children are gone but their torch is still blazing brightly. The man on top of the large mausoleum is no longer in sight. You see one makeshift path leading away from the battle but there should be a path on the otherside of the mausoleum. It is dead quiet and there is almost no wind. A full moon shines brightly down upon you. What do you do?Characters: Pakar

Dusk
"From what I understood, the man on the mausoleum indicated the monk went down the path. Since it was probably his undead that attacked us, it's anyone's guess if he can be at all trusted, though. I'll see if I can pick up a trail."
Dusk inspects the area for tracks that may have been made by the monk.

You find the tracks lead into the spooky graveyard. It is very quiet the moonlight casting its eery glow across the area.

Re: Awaiting Madness
No its cursed, you are just heading into it all in the name of adventure, money and all around good fun, wohoo... The graveyard is extraordinarily eery as you creep across it. Having already fought one sect of zombies you are being extra careful but you get across without seeing any... The tracks stop where the two girls were playing and you find a collection of warped bones bent in unnatural angles. Eww is all that comes to your mind. The torch is still burning. Looking around, unless the children took their toys with them they must have been playing with these bones. Your not sure what you find most disturbing about this deduction... As you reach the door to the muasoleum (i obviously for some reason cannot spell this word for the life of me but you get the idea). You see a glow coming through the cracked open door. What do you do?

Well if no one else wants to open the door then I may as well. Tyral slowly opens the giant door, hoping that no nasty traps are behind it.

Re: Awaiting Madness
Kneeling on the floor is an ancient man. In this lap there is a crystal ball filled with black flames swirling as if in a torrent of wind. The man is dressed in black and gray robes. What little hair he has left is white. His eyes open so slowly that you swear you could hear them creaking. "Hmm. This... This I did not forsee. Who are you? What are you doing here? What is it you seek? Have you come to end the madness? Is it time yet? No no... its way too early." You get the distinct idea that this man is not all with it. "When is this?" He looks down at the orb, you clearly see the picture of the monk fleeing through some woods. "Ah the monk..." He looks up at you. "Careful, this mans mind is not his own. Beware not the insanity but the bouts of sanity. For it is there that you learn what to be afraid of." He points behind him with a thumb. "He went thataway." What do you do?

Re: Awaiting Madness
The old man cackles, "eeheeheehee" in possibly the most irratatingly way possible. "I know exactly what and who are you dealing with it is my job to know.
The Monk walks
where chains are needed
does not stop even when heeded
by the light of the 12 moons
he brings about our dooms
where could he be at
none other then Xoriat
Now you will want to wonder is he running from you or leading you where he wants you to go?"Characters: Pakar

Re: Awaiting Madness
SpoilerOK, I am going to roll knowledge religion for information on Xoriat, because it is definately known by followers of the Path of Light. If he succeeds the check (up to bone's discretion), read the second spoiler, if not, he just stands there looking puzzled.

Re: Awaiting Madness
SpoilerTechnically, I'm fairly certain it would be Knowledge (the planes) not Knowledge (religion) so I'm not sure anyone would get to make a check unless bornin says otherwise. Anyway, il-Yannah is concerned with Dal Quor, not Xoriat. Druids are the ones worried about Xoriat.
Since it's a knowledge check, if you don't have ranks it's just an Intelligence check and you can't learn anything you'd need a DC higher than 10 to find out unless bornin says otherwise.
This conversation should really be happening in the OOC thread.

Re: Awaiting Madness
Dusk
Dusk considers the old man's words.
"Hm. You make a good point, Elder. If he's leading us somewhere we'd best be prepared an ambush. If you don't mind me asking, who are you and how is it you came to reside in this lonely place?"
Spoiler
Diplomacy (1d20+9)[23]
Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to seperate the in-game stuff from the OOC discussion. That, and you can't do roll in an edit.
Edit: Hm. If someone else can hit an DC 10 Diplomacy, we can bump that to a 25 and really get some work done.

Re: Awaiting Madness
I don't care for your riddles old man, give us a straight answer, what are you talking about? What doom do you speak of? And mainly, how do you know this? This old man knows more than he's willing to tell, and his riddles are simply madness. What could he be hiding.
