Re: Orcland Border
Tark settles into his new chamber, looking around in approval.
After storing his minimal belongings in the seachest, he walks onto the deck in search of the captain.

Long Journey at Sea
Each of the 'officer's' chambers has a portal window that can be shuttered, a hard bunk to sleep, a chair, and a locker {seachest} beneath the bunk. Plus two keys to the locker and the room.
On the deck of the ship, Tark and Aarica have free reign. The crew is so big, the two can even relax the whole trip, since they'd only be in the way. Though if the ship is ever attacked at sea, the two specialists will be looked to for sure!
For now all are friendly to Tark and Aarica, for the rumor has spread what they had done for the Captain's progeny. Many sailors would love to hit on Aarica, but out of respect, act like she's a movie star, and she is often offered sweets, treats, and even smokes as she makes her rounds on the big galley.
Big as it is, it is still a ship at sea and will seem small after a while with so many crew on-board. Even the smells. The toilet stalls always have someone inside, so that stench from below decks never seems to leave.

Re: Orcland Border
{What's the situation like between The Captain and his daughter/son/thing?}
Tark tries to ignore the awe from the sailors, mainly because he isn't sure how to react to it.
He is still looking for the captain on the ship...

Chasing Batakar
Word will spread when the galley reaches the far distant kingdom of Zhe: The pirate Batakar and a wizard had attacked a remote fishing village of Aksu. The value of this village is in question, and a surprise target, but after 6 months at sea with a few port stops, the crew was hot on the trail of the hated pirate captain.

Journey With the Captain
The situation between the captain and his former-son {now daughter} is unknown. Fang-hua was sent back to a university, and if asked the captain will say his son is doing just fine now.
Tark will be able to seek an audience with the captain anytime he likes, and kisses up to Tark and Aarica at any chance he gets. Others on the ship are not treated in this obeisant way.

Trek into the Hills of Zhe
An expedition will cause the ship to set up port in a city, and then the ship's army and supply train will head after Batakar and his wizard.
Word will spread of a ranger who will have tracked him down. This ranger Tevrier and his partner Ramona, the half-orc, will guide the group to a fort where a great battle will take place.
{OOC- For speed of things I will skip this fight, but give free XP to get you both to the bottom of 6th level.}

At the Fort
Unfortunately, no money was found only death and draconians.What are these? Well not even the Captain knows. And you will all have found that you stumbled into a bigger fight than you had anticipated in these hills. Many soldiers and marines lost their life. Despair wracks Captain Morris as more death follows him.
There is an old mini-fort where the soldiers and you will be forced to hole up. More than just orcs attacked you, and they were brutal.
Tevrier and Ramona the two guides will have split off with another force of soldiers, these local of the kingdom of Zhe. They will be tracking the enemy with a smaller force. A noble tried to send for aid, before he left with the guides. The survivors of Morris' crew will await for word at the fort. Tark and Aarica will be at this fort with Morris. Not many will be left of the original assault force from the galley.

In the Fort
With all the death that will happen in these far hills by the strange draconic humanoids, Captain Morris will get very ill. Beyond even Aarica's care. Only 15 or so men still live from the war galley. Morris has let it all finally get to him.
It might as well have been a defeat, but the human forces had won at a heavy cost. Teaming with a powerful sorcerer, druid, and their soldiers the draconians were driven away. Morris' forces had suffered the most so they stayed behind to hold this area while the rest sought out the draconians' lair or source.
It will be in this time that you will meet travelers who have come to the fort.
{OOC- I will be linking you two to the new party soon. No need to read up on the thread, for you will be coming into it blind. I will hopefully have enough in the entry thread to make all smooth. By next weekend you'll be with the new group.}

Time Flying By
So to recap that whirlwind:
1. Saved Fang-hua from Batakar's Isle... many died.
2. Returned to Port Carmen, Southern Trade City, tropical get away city, lots of fun and vices.
3. Set off in Captain Morris' new war galley with soldiers and marines.
Aarica and Tark were popular with crew.
4. 6 months of tracking Batakar led to a distant Kingdom of Zhe, on the far western side, far from imperial naval patrol.
5. While in port town: Encountered people who fought an invading force of orc pirates led by Batakar and his wizard. {Tevrier and Ramona} They had killed much of the attackers, and tracked the leaders into the hills of Zhe.
6. Captain Morris docked his war galley, and marched the soldiers and marines inland.
7. A week long march gets to a fort where the local king's men have been fighting a different fight against draconians. It will all turn out to be related somehow.
8. While at fort attacked by these creatures, and Batakar's mighty wizard. No sign of Batakar. Batakar's wizard escapes, but casualties are high on both sides. Many more die.
9. {NPCs} Tevrier, Ramona, and others chase after wizard to find Batakar. Aarica and Tark asked to stay by the sick Captain Morris' side. Those remaining of Morris' men stay... many will want to return to the ship.
10. It will have been two days since the attack on the fort when you are linked.
DM- I hope this clears up some of my railroading to get you with the others. I try not to do that normally.Last edited by BlueWizard; 2009-07-19 at 08:49 AM.

Almost Link Time....
Aarica and Tark will have the early evening shift to rest in the small barracks. The survivors who stayed with Captain Morris are holed up, and playing cards or resting.
Both of you will be awakened when one of the burly marines from the ship begins shouting to someone outside. He is shouting through an arrow-port.
OOC- Sorry, I got delayed this week. I'll be linking you soon! Finally!

Link Post
You are both awakened by the marine on watch duty. "Tark, Aarica! You may want to talk to these guys. I think they know Enke's kid." Enke was an elven druid with your group at the fort, but not with Captain Morris' group.
Outside your barricaded barracks, someone has crawled to the top of the fort wall and is peering over.

Describe yourselves, when/if you come out to greet Byron peering over into the fort. Please ask questions here if needed.
