GLoG XXII: Ahhhhhh!!!! They're after us!!

Hello. And no, I don't think you do. Wenomir pushes aside whatever it was he was eating.

Jenna smiles and sits down on the other side of the table, rubbing her shoulder with one hand nervously.

"I kind of do. I tried to beat you round the head with this thing for no good reason."

She offers her hand across the table.

"I'm Jenna...can we just start over?"

[Morty]

I'm Wenomir, says Wenomir, shaking her hand. And of course we can start over.

Jenna smiles warmly, most of her embarressment gone.

"Great! I hate giving people a bad first impression. Thanks for being so understanding."

She stands up, an embarressing job well done. She looks serious for a moment.

"I do have a good reason for it you know. But you didn't deserve that."

She heads for the door before Wenomir can pull her up on her last statement.

Wenomir nods. He expected that she had a good reason for it. He goes back to his meal.

There's a flash of light outside the door as Erin appears, walks up, and knocks.

She doesn't notice the waiting Jonlas.

[Reinholdt]

Butler, tired of the pitiful door-opening system around here, forces a plot clone of himself into existence and goes to open the door. "Good day sir, ma'am. How can I help you today, sir, ma'am?" Butler addresses both Jonlas and Erin.

[The Bushranger]

I need to talk to Happy. Can you point me to her quarters please? Erin says without preamble, and, in all honesty, rather bluntly.

[Reinholdt]

"Certainly ma'am. I'll lead you there myself ma'am. Right this way ma'am." He'll lead Erin to Happy's room. Jonlas too if he wants to come.

No answer when you knock on Chelonie's door.

[Reinholdt]

"I'm sorry ma'am." He looks at Erin. "I don't think she's in ma'am. Would you like to leave a message or something ma'am?"

Jonlas can peek in on this conversation as far as I'm concerned when he next checks in.

[The Bushranger]

Um, thanks but I think she's actually there. Considering what happened I don't blame her for not answering.

Erin sighs and considers heading off, then shakes her head. Excuse me.

And, gently going to slip past Butler B. Butler, she'll try to phase right through the door.

[Reinholdt]

"Wait a second ma'am." He actually steps between Erin and the door. Which probably won't stop Erin at all. "If Mrs. Amikarr wishes to be left alone ma'am, we should leave her alone ma'am. It's extremely rude to barge in on someone who wants to privacy ma'am." It is. One of the rudest things around that I can think of. "You're more than welcome to come back later ma'am."

Of course Erin, probably could just phase right past Butler. He's not very good at stopping people.

Jonlas instantly perks up whenever Butler mentions the name "Amikarr."

"Chelonie Amikarr is here?" he, very casually, asks Butler.

Erin does stop, perhaps surprisingly, when Butler steps in front of her.

I know it's rude, she acknowledges with a sigh, but consider her situation. Happy just lost her daughter and she's apparently locked herself in her room...wouldn't you be concerned as to her welfare after awhile?

She glances over her shoulder at Jonlas. Chelonie - that's her actual name? I figured Happy was a nickname...

The base defences prevent Erin from phasing through the door. There are only a few people authorized to teleport directly into the Amakirr quarters, and Erin is not on the list.

[Reinholdt]

Butler has been in Texas and didn't know about her daughter's death. "I... see ma'am." She's lost so much so quickly. How horrible. "If she has been in there long ma'am, then she is mourning ma'am. And we should probably let her do so as she wishes ma'am, even if that's alone ma'am. And let her husband take care of it if there serious concerns about the length of time ma'am." He thinks a bit. "But I agree we should still show support ma'am. Perhaps we should get the people here to make one of those cards or write letters ma'am?"

Butler shakes his head at Jonlas. "Uh... no sir. Only Happy Amikarr and Fanboy Amikarr in here that I know of sir." They are standing outside Happy's room. "I can ask her if she knows a Chelonie Amikarr the next time she's well enough to answer sir."

[Morty]

Wenomir heads Outside, not noticing Shirke and Jonlas.

Butler shakes his head at Jonlas. "Uh... no sir. Only Happy Amikarr and Fanboy Amikarr in here that I know of sir." They are standing outside Happy's room. "I can ask her if she knows a Chelonie Amikarr the next time she's well enough to answer sir."

Jonlas is quite taken aback with the realization that Happy is related to Chelonie, or so he thinks.

"Um... uh... it is of no importance. I just remember hearing that name from somewhere." Jonlas says.

[Reinholdt]

"Oh... alright sir. If you're sure sir." Which is alright with Butler. He doesn't want to bug Happy more than she already has to deal with. "Can I get you anything else sir? Perhaps get a room ready for you sir?"

Jonlas looks around. "Is this how you treat people seeking redemption? I figured I would be stuck in a cell for a while..."

[Reinholdt]

"Redemption sir? Is that a kind of desert sir? And we don't put anyone into cells unless it's for their own protection sir. Usually to save people from getting eaten sir. Otherwise, you can simply sleep in a room sir. Would you like one sir?"

Jonlas nods his head. "Yeah... that will be fine. Sorry, I'm just not used to rubbing elbows with the 'good' guys."

Jonlas will follow Butler to his room, nodding greeting to anyone he happens to see along the way. He is back to being completely calm. He has infiltrated far more dangerous places then this, it's nothing he can't handle.

((*plays a game of Kick the Server*))

Well, intangibility /=/ teleportation. But it'd be stopped just the same...

You're probably right. the white-haired girl sighs. Can you tell her Erin is willing to talk to her about anything any time she's ready?

She gives Jonlas a slightly odd look, shakes her head at Butler's naivite, then decides to see if there is cake to be had in the kitchen before she leaves.

"Certainly ma'am."
Butler leads Jonlas to his room, then goes off to deadtime.

Jonlas looks around his room, smiling.

He was in, the hardest part was over. Now he simply had to playact the part, of the villain seeking redemption.

Shouldn't be too hard, all he had to do was turn up any remorse he still felt up a notch or two.

Before long, he will leave his room and start exploring GLoG headquarters. It had been so long since he had participated in the assault on this place.

Erin finishes her cake, then Folds away.

I would, Quinn says with an acknowledging nod as a drone delivers a glass of water, filled with electolytes and nutritional supplements, and she downs it appreciatvely. The difference being, it is part of my reason for being, I guess, to help people in need. You did it merely because you wished to - which isn't to say I wouldn't want to, but I guess you understand what I mean...

"I understand" Susan said soothingly. "I couldn't just leave you there to die, could I?"

Quinn raises an eyebrow, and looks like she is about to say something, then decides against it and smiles instead. And I'm very grateful you didn't. She feels her bandaged side, then sighs. I suppose I should see if the hospitality here includes meals, would you care to join me and talk further?

"Sure, why not. They're bound to kick me out eventually, might as well take advantage of their hospitality while I can, huh?"
