GLoG XXIII: With malice towards none

[Reinholdt]

Irene will watch Crimson and wait, and continue to provide all the comfort that she can provide. This was Crimson's decision, not Irene's. At least, that's the way the nymph figured it should be anyways.

Reinholdt is still wandering the base.

Sam finally looks up in surprise. What? She thinks about that, emotion hiding from her face. Dani, didn't Tobias just do that to screw with you? You shouldn't listen to him, he's a shameless liar. And, with that, she turns around and goes to her room.

Dani watches Sam go, before looking down again.

I...think thou doest protest too much.

She idly kicks at the pool floor, trying to think about what she should do, then laughs bitterly as she looks down at herself.

Beautiful, she says, I pour my heart out and she leaves me...

For a moment her eyes fall on the cabinet where the pool chemicals are kept, and a thought flits through her mind...before just as quickly being dismissed.

Instead, heartbroken, Dani starts for her room.

Quinn is still in the Rose Garden, meditating.

Sam exits her room and walks towards the front door, agitatedly loading a revolver with antimagic bullets.

Crimson doesn't appear to realize she has a say in it.
"What are we going to do now?"

Chelonie finally finishes in the conservatory and goes out into the main part of the base.

Then she turns a corner and sees Reinholdt.

Her expression blank, she just looks at him.

Dani, heading slowly in the direction of her room, spots Sam approaching, and starts to turn to walk somewhere else, then sees what she's doing...

Sam....if you're trying to use that on yourself again I'll have you raised and then kill you again myself for being so stupid...

Kowalski is in the kitchen

Clicking the cylinder closed, Sam pockets the gun and shrugs impassively. That gun is now loaded with .38 calibre, semijacketed antimagic rounds. If I was going to shoot myself, I would use 9mm hollowpoints. Less of a mess, and more fatal. She taps the butt of her Glock. Besides, last time I checked, what I do around here requires me to carry firearms. Stop flattering yourself.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt stops. This was not the member he preferred to see. Granted, he was barely recognizable now, but there seemed to be a general lack of other normal cats around to cover his own escapades. He looks up at Chelonie.

Irene shook her head and stood up, trying to lead Crimson. "Have you ever been swimming Scarlet?" Just something to get them out of the infirmary.

[AmberVael]

"Not really..."
Crimson says hesitantly, taking Irene's hand and following her, looking up at the nymph with red eyes.

Dani just stares at Sam for a moment, looking like she's trying to think of something, anything, to say...

Finally she looks down and speaks, just above a whisper. I don't go giving my heart to everybody. I've only given it to three people, ever, in my entire life.

She pauses, then looks up.

Two of them have broken it.

"Why?"

Her voice sounds lower pitched than it used to, her vocal cords damaged by anguished screams.

There's a flicker of guilt, and then a wave of steely resolve buries it under indifference. Yeah, well that's what happens. Next time pick somebody better.
She tries to step around Dani and leave.

[The Bushranger]

Dani, were she not feeling so horrible right now, would accuse Sam of getting drunk without her...

As it is, she, instead, reaches to grab Sam's arm and try to stop her.

If there was anybody better, I should. My first love used me, my second died, the third threw me away, but I still care about you enough I don't want you to go off and do something stupid!

[Quinsar]

Mint is around.

The whiskey on her breath is rather nicely disguised by a mint.

She's stopped, and calmly turns back. I'm sure my brother would be delighted to know you have such a low opinion of him.

[Reinholdt]

Red eyes? Let's hope that's just from the crying and not her pupils. She'll lead Crimson to the Great Closet. "Well, first we need to pick out a swimming suit." She leads Crimson to where the options are.

Reinholdt remains quiet. Chelonie will have to elaborate on the why. Particularly, "Why what?"

The whiskey on her breath is rather nicely disguised by a mint.

She's stopped, and calmly turns back. I'm sure my brother would be delighted to know you have such a low opinion of him.

Dani sighs and lets go, turning away.
Fine. I'm going to go sleep. Maybe I won't bother waking up.

Crying.
Crimson has weird ivory eyes, not weird red eyes.

Crimson looks over the swimming suits curiously.
"What are these?"

Sam rolls her eyes. Oh yes Dani, stoop to my level. Very good. And with that parting shot, she walks out.

Her throat closes up and her eyes threaten to spill over again. Damn it, I thought I was done crying. I thought I didn't have anything left to cry.

She sinks into the nearest chair, elbows on knees, head buried in her hands.

"Why are you here?"

[Reinholdt]

Goodie. Just wasn't sure if the pupils had changed or not.
"They're swimming suits. They're what you wear when you go swimming. I'll let you pick out the one you want to wear and put it on. I'm going to go change into mine in my room, ok?" Irene turns to leave if Crimson has no further questions.

Oh. That was an easier one. He looks downwards. "I'm here to pick back up the Brightheart."

[celtois]

A brownish kitty with black stripes and a collar with a blue star on it wander to the door and mews at it trying to scratch at the door to get attention.

Yeah, I learned from the worst! Dani yells back at Sam, before heading to her room...

She slams the door, collapses on the bed, and starts sobbing.

Quinn, meanwhile, seems to have fallen asleep in the rose garden...

Chelonie looks up, her eyes flashing with anger. "Let me guess, you need it for your next attempt?"

I really don't think little kitties are going to find a warm welcome with Chelonie. Especially ones with blue stars.

But she's nowhere near the door so isn't involved.

[Quinsar]

Mint opens the front door.

The kitty runs towards mint and tries to jump into her arms..

She catches said kitty.
Oh, hey little guy!

Crimson bites her lip as she looks over the various swim suits.
After searching through them, she finally manages to find a red and black patterned two piece which she tries on and decides she likes.

There's also what appears to be a bathrobe-like piece of clothing that she brings with her that matches- possibly in case she starts feeling cold after getting out of the pool.

The kitty murrs and tries to rub it's head against her arm. It's tail twitches..

Oh and Alexis nears the door of Glog.. Looking half dead.. She has a gun shot wound though her left shoulder..
