    Kagekure: Arashi vs. Toshio

    Kagekure had grown in the twelve years since Toshio and Arashi first met but it's need for money and it's dependency on drastic measures hadn't. The entire arena that they stood in now was a testament to that fact. Once solemn battles between two shinobi now became spectacle as people from the village and beyond bet on who would win.

    The arena was new but despite that it was cracked and broken from overuse and poor repair. It's heavy construction was all that kept it standing as pure concrete endured inhuman battle after inhuman battle. The ground was dry with only several clumps of grass clinging to life on the hard earth. The few solid rocks left stood defiant despite the incredible punishment they had taken.

    Two opposites stood set to collide. Man and woman. Sky and earth. Ranged and melee.

    OOC:

    Dark Gray; ten foot high arena stands.
    Light Grey; entrance set into the stands.
    Green; grass.
    Brown; dirt.
    Grey/Green; moss covered rocks, they provide half-cover if stood behind, total-cover is crouched behind.
    Special: The arena is enclosed above the stands but opens to the sky ten feet out to the arena floor. This shadow is doubled on Toshio's side of the arena, and halved on Arashi's side.

    There is a single round worth of time between now and when the fight starts to buff, roll initiative, and taunt each other.

    The genchuunin's Katsugan scans around the stadium picking out those who have become his friends over time and those few that meant much more to him. Maybe Tora-sensei is out there watching, Toshio thinks to himself. The Kage-nin had grown just finely, his body was finally beginning to heal meaning that he didn't have to cover himself with linen all over. Pockets of healthy, pink flesh dotted along the nin's clothing.

    Toshio's physique also changed with time, he grew and his muscles became lean with the power of youth. The Kage-nin takes a strong whiff of the air and is pleased to still be alive. It was a good life.

    Well, it was good until the day he met Arashi who stood opposite of him. The Tora-osheigo performs a few simple hand signs and the dirt around his legs crawl up him and surround him like a coat of rusted armor. Toshio summons his innate chakra and solidfies to form two monstrous claws around his hands; he bends his legs down, lowering his self to the ground which gave him power. His arms fold upwards with his palms faced towards the kunoichi, blue, flame-like claws point towards his opponent.

    "Oy! Are you ready Arashi-chan? Nyah~!"

    Arashi stood with her real mid-to late-twenties body as she had done when she first met Toshio through the ageing technique. She even wore similar clothes, spartan but stylish, but of course the style had changed since then. Her clothes seemed to ripple about her, moved by a breeze that should not have been present. Her dignity protected despite her acrobatic ability by a black unitard, noticed for now only by the lecherous. "Ready when you are, just don't overdo the idiot-power!"

    A murmur of chakra circled around her as she stood still apparently doing nothing, but she had begun to perform her signature move. Muchigufuu. A technique that saturated the air around her with wind chakra and allowed her to create a lethal circle of death around her.

    What remained of the din and murmur of the crowd disappeared as the shinobi squared off against each other. A gentle and quite whisper as people nudged each other and pointed things out about both of their signature techniques.

    "Ready?" A disembodied voice spoke over the whisper. "Go!"

    A grin forms around Toshio's now-uncovered mouth, a few large pointy fangs appear behind his fleshy lips, "Nyah~!" The Tora-osheigo's auburn hair stands on end as a large amount of chakra courses through his body, a warm burst of wind erupts from deep inside his gut. In a flash the chuunin is halfway through the stadium, and in another flash Toshio is mid-air aiming for Arashi with an outstretched claw.

    Arashi tumbled five feet to the side letting Toshio and his overeager attack smash into the dirt she had once stood on, releasing the limits on her as the battle started. Twisting back up she again performed another of her repertoire of ninjutsu without hand seals. Instantly releasing the fuuma shuriken from the scroll that contained a small supply of the large weapons. With another twist of her body she scooped up the air around her and flung the fuuma shuriken at Toshio.

    The fuuma shuriken slices through a thin coat of dust as it is the only left over from Toshio's high-speed jutsu. The mummy-like nin ends up inches away from Arashi's face with an almost sad expression on his face. As the kunoichi stares into Toshio's crystal blue eyes, they begin to separate and spin around like normal; however, after another second of staring his eyes begin rotating so fast that the iris disappears in its motion.

    As fast as ink disperses in water, Toshio's sclera converts to a sanguine color and his eyes begin to slow down to show jet black irises and piercing white pupils. It was the only gift that Toshio received from Kumogakure, but he was about to use it now in the sake of Kagekure. Kaigan.

    Arashi knew that Toshio despite his personality was like Lani's and that it was a bad idea to engage him while he was in full-combat mode. She moved one hand to the handle of the blade she had reforged, her family's heirloom, her family's stolen heirloom. Even as she did so though, she moved the chakra around her creating a solid wall of wind rushing around her, again it was her mastery of hand seals that produced this amazing ninjutsu. The keen shinobi mind ignoring the undignified flapping of her clothes, and skirt.

    A heavy murmur shot through the crowd as Toshio activated the kaigan. For some it was the first they had seen the Kumogakure special technique, and possibly the only time too. Many who had underestimated the chuunin now began to take notice, and despair a little.

    A bloody, warlike call cries from Toshio's mouth as his inner emotions are released all at once. His teeth protrude from his mouth and his back begins to shift forward. In many ways the peace-loving shinobi was no more, but what stood in his path was a ravaging, feral creature known as a Tora-osheigo.

    The Tiger Disciple sprints off in a blink of an eye and comes face to face with Arashi once again; however instead of his claws making the next attack, a bright blue aura was already inside Toshio's hand. "Zenshin Fuzui no Jutsu!"

    Arashi just stared for a moment as he announces his technique. "What're we?! Genin?" She finally spouted. She really was at her wits end as she moved out of his very loud way. She whipped around and lashed out with the kodachi, but not for the intention of attack, but she fought defensively.

    The raging Tora-osheigo pauses with his next jutsu still resting in his hand. Memories from years back started to flood his head again when little Ichimaru was trying to make it across a busy street so he wouldn't lose a race. Toshio was already the first one to make it there, but he turned around, and went directly for Lani to impede her movement.

    Of course the first "tackle no jutsu" was a failure, but after a few tries, Ryuu managed to touch Lani-sensei. Toshio returns from his reverie and stares down at Arashi looking her straight in the eyes. "Last one!"

    Toshio pants a little bit seeing that none of his attacks have been the least bit successful. In all reality he could probably only keep up his all out attack for another few seconds, but he'd be damned if he would've let up now.

    Toshio lifts his hand up again sluggishly even at this high-speed and tries to connect with his jutsu. Attack, attack, attack...

    After the attack no matter if it connects or not. Toshio begins to feel the price for using all of his power at once.

    Seeing her chance appear as Toshio's eyes returned to the normal crystal blue, and his features became less bestial she quickly used shundou to put distance for her re-assumed assault. Disappearing with the extreme movement she again appeared ten feet away now, again she released ninjutsu without hand-seals and once more, she threw the large shuriken at Toshio.

    With no chakra left to pull off any kind of maneuver or jutsu, Toshio recalls the symbolic meaning of the tiger. The animal was the embodiment of the earth, when he he is closer to the ground he has the advantage; Toshio grins when he thinks how true that has become at this situation. The Tora-osheigo steps closer to Arashi and falls down hugging the ground; luckily for Toshio, his tiger stance allowed him to attack from such a position.

    Arashi wasted no time she knew it was her time to strike and strike hard, but Toshio wasn't going down without putting up a fierce struggle. Whipping the air around her without so much as a single movement, using only chakra and her powerful command of ninjutsu to perform Air Wave Blade Storm.

    It was a good thing that Toshio was already lying on the ground. All of Arashi's jutsu missed him ever so slightly. The Tora-osheigo felt his hair flutter as the the attack passed by. Unrelenting, Toshio swiped his chakra paw at the kunoichi's tendons.
