(On the left, Sword is strong and Lance is weak. With the teams as they were originally, left will have one mage, two swords, and an axe, so two neutral and two strong. With them split, it will be three swords and an axe, so three strong and one neutral. Not much of an advantage, but its noted.

On the right, Axe is strong and Sword is weak. With the teams in their original groupings, right will have two lances, an axe, and a sword, so one strong, two neutral, and one weak. With them split the new way, it will be one axe, one magic, one lance, and one sword... still one strong, two neutral, and one weak. However, the weak one in this scenerio is the guy who needs the experience least, Luke aka the guy who got the boss kill and load of experience. For experience distribution, we'd be best off keeping original groups.

You overestimate the advantage of complicating things.)
