[ACRO] GLoG 28: The People's Republic of Magtok

"Hello. Um, excuse me, Chelonie? May I have a word with Reinholdt?"

"Of course," she says. Of course since she's the one bedridden, they'll have to be the ones to leave. But she has no objection to her conversation with Reinholdt being ended.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt frowns. "Take care of yourself Chelonie." He steps out into the Great Room. "What can I help you with?"

[ThePhantom]

Marley follows Reinholdt to the great room.

"With this."

Marley takes out a book from his pocket.

"I've been doing a lot of research lately, and I wanted to check everything available to me. This book, well I had it for a while, and was never able to open it. I was wondering if you could indentify it for me?"

The book looks to be made of some old leather, but extraordinary well preserved, almost new in fact. Reinholdt's treasure hunting senses should easily tell him that this is an artifact, similar to the Brightheart, but possibly even more powerful.

[Reinholdt]

"I can certainly try. Will take an hour or so for my preliminary findings though." The spell takes a while to work so he doesn't use it often. And Reinholdt's rudimentary magic will probably only glean some of the more basic information from the book. Still, he should learn something.

"If you don't mind waiting, I can start now. Shall we move to the library?"

[ThePhantom]

"Sure, I can continue my research in there anyways."
Marley heads to the library.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt heads to the library. And starts working on doing just what he said.

And hits the fast-forward button cause this is the boring part.

[ThePhantom]

Marley, during the time at Reinholdt is doing that thing, spends the time looking for anything about Astir, and still failing to find anything.

[Reinholdt]

And the spell is cast designed to find out a bit of the basic stuff about the book.

Hopefully said owner of the book can give a little for Reinholdt to tell Marley.

In the meantime, though... "Whatcha looking up?"

The book seems to be continuely repairing itself of any minor damage it suffers.
It is full of positive energy, similarly even more than the Brightheart. Reinholdt should be able to notice something that was worn away on purpose, the title of the book, while for some reason, appears to be written in yellow crayon, and with really bad penmanship.
It could say: On postive energy, and universe fixing or Un pppppppppisses engegeefgef, agfeg unggee fiffasf, or canyon filled turtle, open seasame.

"I'm trying to find any information on someone called Astir."

[Reinholdt]

"Astir? What for?"

Hmmm... all of a sudden the book can wait a bit.

[ThePhantom]

"Well, I'm worried that if I don't have a plan to deal with him, he might decide to zap himself into GLoG and crush my head for a remark I made about him. That and after sending two days researching and not finding anything about him, I got curious."

[Reinholdt]

"Well... perhaps its best not to make disparaging remarks about him then? Maybe even apologize? I'm sure he'll understand."

[The Bushranger]

Meanwhile, in the shooting range, Dani finally finishes shooting off several boxes of .22 ammo, and, exhausted, drops back into a chair that's convienently located to be dropped into.

[ThePhantom]

"I wouldn't even know where to find him. By the way, you had something to tell me about the book?"

[FireFox]

After many hours and much ammunition, Sam finally has her new piece perfectly configured and sits down in the chair next to Dani's.

[The Bushranger]

Dani reaches over to try and squeeze Sam's hand.
That was fun!

[FireFox]

Sam smiles at her. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

[Reinholdt]

"Yeah. It's full of positive energy and constantly repairs itself. Also, it appears to be titled On positive energy and universe fixing, but I could be wrong. No indication as to how to open it though. That'd take more time to research."

[ThePhantom]

"I'll see. Now, can I have my book back?"

[The Bushranger]

Dani nods eagerly and grins back. It was great! And lots of fun while being useful too. What's not to like? Especially since I was doing it with you...

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt hands him the book. "There you go. Best of luck finding out more."

[FireFox]

Sam blushes and tries to kiss Dani's cheek.

[ThePhantom]

Marley takes the book back.

"Thank you."

After leaving the library and closing the book behind him, Marley smiles.

"I already learned that you know something about him, Reinholdt."

Marley heads to his room to turn in for the night.

[The Bushranger]

Dani giggles and turns her head to return the favour in kind.
You want me to fix dinner, love?

[FireFox]

Mm, yeah, let's go. Sam stands up and offers Dani a hand.

[The Bushranger]

Dani takes it with her biggest, most blissful smile. Lead the way, Sammie.
And she skips along behind, still looking a little...tired, but happy.

[FireFox]

Sam walks into the kitchen, hand in hand with Dani.

[The Bushranger]

Dani kisses Sam's cheek then goes to fix a midnight snack.

Sam smiles and watches her.
