[ACRO] GLoG 28: The People's Republic of Magtok

Aaand now, a plot-clone of Quinn is going to show up, and try to drag the Magbody to the infirmary...

DC undeadtimes in the armory, looking around at daggers and such.

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok is dragged along. You should probably have just tossed it in a furnace or something instead, it's no use to anyone in the infirmary.

Chelonie sees the MagCorpse and turns away.

Her mind knows it's a clone and he's not really gone, but her tribal instincts are screaming that she should have been able to protect him.

[Lord Magtok]

Another Magtok hovers in through the door, still detects as evil, and goes floating along at a rather hurried pace to the infirmary, cringing briefly at the sight of his own mangled face.

Hap-Chelonie, you wanted to see me?

Chelonie blinks. "That was fast... do you know when you're about to... to die?"

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok frowns, and reaches a hand out to teleport his corpse away.

I do, and I can almost feel the pain moments afterward for a few moments when I'm alive again. It was Astir, Reinholdt's boss. I saw him in the library, thought I'd try to sneak up on him. He heals fast, but he isn't immortal. He's gone now, but he read part of my mind, looked through some things, nothing that'll threaten you, but I'm going to have to reinforce MagCave security.

Magtok gaze intensifies, NOBODY is compromising the security system of his home.

Astir. That was exactly who she wanted to speak to Magtok about. "Can you shut down the security feeds in this room while we talk?"

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok reaches into his robes, pulls out a remote, and temporarily knocks out the security system in the room. He then CLOSES THE DOORS, and puts the gurney his corpse was previously lying on against them. It won't keep anyone out, but it should make a decent warning system.

Okay, the place is clean now.

Tia is splashes by hot water, instantly reverting to her human form. She is indeed naked. She glances around the kitchen and grabs a clean dish towel. She ties it around her waist. It... works well enough... She waves her hand in front of Vidalia's face and scrunches her face. This deadtime stuff sure is inconvenient. What is a half naked girl going to do around here by herself?

"I don't know what Astir is, but he's working with Reinholdt. The two of them threatened a bunch of orphans if Lex didn't make a pact with Astir. This pact gave her power, but also corrupted her. To the point where she lost her temper and ended up killing the orphans anyway." Tears come into her eyes, but she blinks them back. "I don't have very much left, but Reinholdt is obviously trying to take everyone from me. I'll fight for Lex. But I don't know how to stop Astir."

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok bites his lip. Orphans. It had descended into orphan murdering now. If he knew they were elves he'd just shrug it off and say they probably did something to deserve it, but without that piece of knowledge, his dislike of Reinholdt and friends grows.

I can stop him. I just need two clones at once and a second chance at him. Also, don't go to Rein's apology thing, it's probably a trap. I think I can get a clone down there of you, so they don't assume we think it's a trap.

"You have clones of...? Never mind. I don't need to know. Okay, whatever you do, please try and keep Lex safe. Is there anything I can do to help? I know I'm pretty useless here."

[Darkcomet]

DC, frowning, heads out into the great room.

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok pauses to think, and paces back and forth, firing at the surveillance grid again to buy the two some more time.

Stay safe, and hope you get better. Try using reason and sense and guilt, even if it's mostly a lost cause on the cat. And, if possible, talk to Czernov for me. He's going to be GLoG president soon, I can't have him undermining my efforts.

Cynthia...the monster knew of Cynthia and his clones, and could teleport wherever he wanted. This whole mess is suddenly of critical importance now, nothing can be held back, Astir and Reinholdt must die.

[Reinholdt]

There's Reinholdt in the Great Room. He waves at DC. "Hi Comet."

Did you find any information on the book?

Again, DC is not much for greetings.

Vidalia wakens from deadtime. Dang girl, don't your clothes change with you?

Vidalia takes off her own shirt and offers it to Tia.

Marley decides it was safe enough to head out of his room, and he walks to the great room.
Seeing that Reinholdt is there, he decides to go around, and come on Reinholdt from behind.
After seeing what Astir could do, it was about time for few answers from a certain cat.

[Reinholdt]

"Well I found out it was made by Furiel. That's an angel who used to hang around but... died unexpectedly recently. Doubt he's going to give us any answers now. Oh. And it's one of a pair." Reinholdt is distracted and ninja'd. He is snuck up upon!

[happyturtle]

[Infirmary room]

"Okay. I will. Though I imagine I'll have more luck with Czernov than with Reinholdt." She pauses. "There's something strange about him. He seems to have developed separate personalities. When he's in cat form, he's silent and fearful, and seems to feel guilty for what he's done, but in his catman form, he's... arrogant. Paternalistic. A bit of a chip on his shoulder when anyone questions his sincerity."

[Darkcomet]

DC is about to reply when he sees Marley coming. He raises an eyebrow at him, but doesn't say anything about it.

[ThePhantom]

Marley whips out a piece of clothe, soaked with chloroform.
"Nightly night, cat."
Marley puts the clothe over Reinholdt's face.

[Reinholdt]

"What? Did I say som-mmmph!!" Reinholdt whips his hands up, but doesn't get much of a chance before he's put out like a light a suppose.

*snore*

What's going on here?

He doesn't seem too surprised, though. Given that this is Reinholdt... Something must be up.

"Sorry to interupt you, DC, but this cat has some explaining to do. His boss paid GLoG a visit, and almost burned me and Magtok to a chisp. I thought it was time I got some answers from him."

Marley takes the clothe away from Reinholdt's face.

Boss? What?

DC is confused now.

"Don't worry, its not Cal. This time its some guy called Astir. I have been trying to find out what he's up to, but I have had no luck. However, Reinholdt knows him, and since Reinholdt not the type to be pulling the strings, I guessed that Astir is the one in charge."

[Jacklu]

Trading one topless girl for another? I can live with that.

Tia takes the shirt and puts it on. I wish it worked that way. Sadly, it only seems to have affected my body, not my clothing.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt lays there.

Seriously? Chloroform? Who did they think he was? Some two-bit cat who couldn't take it?

He keeps his ears open, and his eyes shut. At least until they attempt to move him. He's going to have something to say about that.
