Did you give me POWERTHIRST? He asks, sitting down at a table.

Where's the Umu?

A faint, faint, wail can be heard from under a nearby table.

Jake goes to the table.

[Beans]

Under it, clinging to a table leg like it's a lifeboat, is The Umu.
The leg is visibly cracked where she grips it.
Melissa comes to see.
... Oh.
Crap.
Remind me to never ever ever give her Powerthirst ever.
For at least five eternities.
The Umu wails softly again. Her eyes are clamped shut.

Jake bursts out laughing and tries to pick The Umu up.

She struggles slightly in her sleep, still gripping tightly. With the aid of Melissa, she is upply picked.
She mumbles, still not awake.
Melissa sighs.
She's so cute my eyes hurt. Too bad she isn't a little girl instead of a scary entity dedicated to the study of fear. Otherwise we could adopt the hell out of her.

She awakes with a cry of shock.

Jake tries to pick both of them up in a comic group hug.

Whee! They are picked up; Melissa utters a squee (my first squee ever here) while The Umu goes for more of an "Eep!"
What is going on?! Stop this nons... she trails off, having an inward "heartwarming puppysnuggity moment".
She sighs, gets her arms free, and actively participates in the hug.

The Umu's eyes moisten; she sniffs.
