Sam puts on the robe, laughing. It's probably waaaay too small, but meh.


Tobias scrambles to his feet, grabbing his healer's kit, and runs after Corwin.

All the better, the way Dani thinks.
You look great in that, love. She smiles and gives Sam's hand a squeeze before going to pull her out of the room...

Quinn looks up in startlement at Tobias for a minute, her eyes searching his, as he emerges.

You look great in anything Dani, but please don't leave the room without clothes on. Sam teases her partner as she's pulled out.

Misaki nods, then dashes over to Quinn to hug her. "I don't want to be scared of you, Quinn. I really like you. Please forgive me."

Marley walks out his room, taking the rock from its case.

He grabs a bottle of Nuka-Cola, and walks out the front door.

Dani blushes and smiles broadly at Sam. I'll try to keep that in mind. You really think I look great in anything?
And lo, they reach the couch in front of the TV!



Quinn hugs Misaki back just as tightly, smiling. Of course I forgive you, sweetie. I really like you too.

Well... some things more than others, but you always look beautiful. Sam kisses Dani, then sits down and tries to pull her into her lap.

Misaki sighed and rested against Quinn. "Can we go back to your room?" All this excitement (and Neon's need to deadtime soon) had tuckered the little kid out.

DC, pretty much healed up, gets up and asks a drone what's been going on...

And he's told about the explosion outside.

And he darts outside.

Quinn smiles and stands to take Misaki's hand and lead her back to her room.


Dani's cheeks turn a little pinker, but before she can say anything she's kissed, and all thoughts other than kissing back go out the window...
She giggles as she's pulled into Sam's lap. How am I supposed to pick a movie now?
She doesn't make any move to leave, of course...

Miskai takes Quinn's hand and follows obediently (and sleepily.)

Pick one and then make a drone get it...? Sam doesn't seem to care much for anything other than snuggling.

We have seen it, and brought it forth with us. The body of Chelonie Amakirr, the shell of one of your best.

The door is smacked open by a large tentacle. Along comes not Draken or one of his friends, but a construct of Magtok's, a SquidBot designed to emulate some of the mannerisms and spookiness found in Frosthand's goons.

Dead, slaughtered by the paw of your Reinholdt. My lord is disgusted with your league and its inaction, the losses and devastation incurred by your incompetence and idiocy. Atone for thy sins, League. Redeem not others, but thyselves or else when the Reinholdt falls, my lord shall come for your throats next.

And with that message, the SquidBot gently lowers the corpse to the ground, spits an inky chemical on the ground in disgust, and then attempts to float off. Vengeful Mag is vengeful.

And when they reach Misaki's room, Quinn pulls back the covers with a smile. ...thanks for trusting me, Misaki, she says softly.



That sounds like a plan! Dani grins and wraps her arms around Sam tightly even as she waves over a drone and tells it to collect The Hunt for Red October off the shelf.

Sam just gapes at the Squidbot and Chelonie's body in shock.

Dani stares as well.
What...what happened?

Misaki climbed up onto the bed. "You're my best friend, Quinn... I couldn't run away from you, or leave you alone..."

"Quinn? Could you sing me a lullaby?"

[The Bushranger]

Quinn blushes and sits on the bed. You're my best friend too. Thanks.

She thinks for a minute, then nods.
I certainly could.
Smiling, Quinn closes her eyes, and starts to sing - a lilting, Celtic melody, her voice clear and beautiful.

Dani, still shocked, isn't able to do anything but stare.

Misaki smiled gently. "Your voice is really pretty, Quinn.."

Misaki laid back and closed her eyes, falling asleep to Quinn's lullaby.

I'll...take her to the morgue....

Dani slips off of Sam's lap and walks over, bending over to put her hand on Chelonie's shoulder.

pop!

They should arrive in the morgue.





Quinn smiles and squeezes Misaki's hand, as she keeps singing.

Chelonie's body is popped to the morgue. Any normal things that would be done to corpses can be godmodded from here out.

Tia undeadtimes in the infirmary. She looks at Vidalia and frowns. Get me a sling. She instructs the drone. She waits till the drone returns with it and fastens it on her injured arm.

Dani sets the drones there to do what they do, then -

pop!

gives herself a 30-second shower -

pop!

And (back in a robe) returns to Sam, dropping onto the couch next to her, looking stunned.

Sam goes to put her arm around Dani gently.

Dani leans into Sam's embrace as she starts to cry...

Sh sh sh... It's okay... Sam holds her partner comfortingly.

Dani nods a little, but still turns to bury her face in Sam's shoulder as she wraps her arms around her, sobbing.

Sam carefully picks Dani up and walks with her back to her room slowly.
