Taelas

Not wishing to take a gamble on a difficult shot, Taelas lets the arrow slip back into the quiver and stows his weapon. He reaches into his pack and gets out a few gold coins before walking to the entrance of the brothel.

"I'm looking for a man, Abbadi on personal business. I was told he could be found here. There is quite a bit of money involved, so if you could point me to him..."

Taelas offers the coins to the guard by the door.

The bordello guard, curses and recoils from Loren. "Vesper son of Phos!" He draws a sword and begins chasing after Loren growling, "I'm gonna gut that dog!" He continues chasing Loren until he's stopped by a large matronly woman (Yerga) . "No you won't, not on my floors! Get a club or a mallet, I don't want a mess." The guard stops, searching after a blunt object to kill the errant mutt, essentially giving Loren free reign of the building until he finds it.



The guard frowns,"Big foreign guy with a beard? He's upstairs. House rules say no violence, less a course you pay for it, so keep it civil like." The guard then makes the coins disappear with practiced ease.

Loren

Loren, seeing his chance while the guard is distracted, runs up the stairs to where Abbadi and the others surely were.

Taelas

Moving up the stairs, Taelas keeps an eye out for where Abbadi could have gone. He disregards the dog running around as it passes him. Strange place.

Taelas and Loren both reach the second floor at roughly the same time. The second floor has one long hallway, about 60ft long by 10ft across, from which the various rooms of customers and working women.

Taelas is at one end of the corridor and Loren the other. At roughly the center of the hallway Abbadi, the young Marukaner and Abbadi's two guards wait as a high class lady of the evening opens a door. At this distance it's easy to pick out the family resemblance between Abbadi and the young Marukaner.

Elran

Cursing under his breath, Elran turns from the door. "Sounds like somebody's buying his son a ride," he whispers to Aztara. "Don't know if it's Abbadi or not."

Loren

Loren, seeing his prey so near at hand, begins to feel excitement boiling in his heart. He casually walks towards Abbadi, trying to act like a normal, curious dog.

Taelas

Walking calmly across the hallway towards the target, Taelas tries to think of a way to get close to Abbadi and alert the other murderers without alerting the guards.

"Abbadi, I have been sent with a business proposition. Perhaps you have time to discuss over drinks?"

Perhaps the orc heard more than her - it would make sense for the demonic hunters to have better senses. Looking at Elran, she points to herself and indicates her head at the door, her eyes now as black as her hair. She quickly looks around the room, to see if they have access to the next room and any route of escape.

Ashvar gave you a rough description of Abbadi, and since there isn't more than one Marukan ambassador he's pretty easy to pin down, although you wouldn't be able to pick him out by voice. ))

Elran looks at Aztara, shrugs, and walks out into the hallway.

Aztara

Confused by the apparent lack of a plan she follows him out into the hall. The others are ignored while she tries to walk past Abaddi in, what she thinks, is a highly suggestive strut. With her makeup the appearance is of a foreign, exotic harlot. She is tense however, and prepared to pull out the daggers from her high boots.

The prostitute enters the room and Abbadi's son follows wit a sheepish grin, closing the door behind them.

Loren is largely ignored as Tealas approaches. The guards eye Tealas with suspicion but Abbadi seems to be in incredibly high spirits. "A drink does seem to be in order, although I'll make no promises about having a head for business. Today my son becomes a man! What's your name friend?"

Elran's exit makes the guards jump but Abbadi's mood seems imperturbable. He asks Elran in unaccented paduan, "Friend orc, it seems me and my friends are going for a drink?" Abbadi ignores Aztara, taking her for another employee.

Loren

Loren, finding himself ignored, sees the perfect opportunity to launch a sneak attack. Transforming himself in the mighty wolf, Loren runs forward and leaps up to take a vicious bite out of the unwitting bodyguard, tearing at his throat.

Despite her own readiness Loren's speed surprises her. She reaches down for her knife and attacks Abbadi, whom she was near while trying to attract his attention.

Loren's attack catches the man off guard, he stumbles back from the force of the blow covered in his own blood. Despite the damage, he remains standing and his hand goes for his falchion.

Taelas

Taelas watches as Loren makes the first move. Abbadi seems to turn, leaving a perfect spot for attack. Humans always have a soft spot on the lower part of the back of their head. Drawing his bow, Taelas readies an arrow and lets fly hoping to end Abbadi with one more arrow

Therlond continues to rake fire up and down the thoroughfare in about a 90 foot arc (assuming arrow distance is less with my arching shots) until his 40 new arrows are used, then begins to run back to the bordello!

Loren

Tasting blood in his mouth, Loren goes into a frenzy; his eyes grow bloodshot and bloody drool drips through his grinning teeth. Seeing his prey still alive, he leaps on top of the bodyguard, slamming onto the man's chest with his own shoulder and bringing his paw down onto the man's throat. Looking around now for a second victim, Loren launches himself at the second bodyguard, fangs opened wide.

Flurry of Blows and bite at the bodyguard I damaged before. I get three attacks so if I kill that bodyguard during the attacks, I launch my remaining attacks on the other bodyguard, taking a 5-ft step if necessary.

Therlond empties his quiver at an almost inhuman rate, dumping all forty arrows into the thoroughfare in roughly a minute. He leaves his perch before the authorities or anyone else has a chance to react.

With all the screaming and activity on the thoroughfare, no one notices a single figure running for the bordello.

Loren tears apart the guard he had already bitten, reducing his face and chest to a bloody mess.

Abbadi's eyes roll backwards into his head and he begins chanting. The spell doesn't seem to have any visible effect.

Thalus's arrow slams into Abbadi. Abbadi's eyes pop wide open in shock and amazement.

Abbadi's remaining guard draws his sword and moves to protect Abbadi.

Aztara's dagger thrust misses, deflected by Abbadi's guard.

I hate to skip people, but I want to keep the game going. You can both act before the next round, otherwise your actions will be lost.

Aztara's strike scratches down the guards side, but fails to penetrate the man's armor.

Loren's first strike hit's true but the others miss, either deflected by Abbadi's remaining guard or repulsed by some unknown force that has enveloped Abbadi. The one blow is telling, combined with his arrow wound and the stress of spell casting, Abbadi is barely standing.

He screams "Guards!" before casting another spell, with an utterance and a gesture he suddenly winks out of existence, to the astonishment of even his own guard.

The guard, absent of any objective to protect, visibly considers running. Instead he enters an entirely defensive posture, intent on buying his friend and employer more time.
