Caeric stirs fitfully. The images in his head, zombies, bugbears, he wakes screaming Loopmottin! He looks around the room and sees the odd group in the room. It seems like the Elven women is in charge, so Caeric will sit watching and listening.

I'm really sorry for missing the beginning of the game

[Elfin]

"Tell me more of this Sahu, Human. Who rules here?
Bahamut must have a task for me; I shall endeavor to discover it. Is there trouble in Sahu? Evil? What deeds of valour might I perform that I might destroy evil upon this isle?"

Arzimon looks at the newly-awakened halfling.
"You are not a human, not any kind of human I have ever seen. Perhaps you might have more sense than the rest. Who and what are you, Halfhigh?"

[tiny tim]

I'm all for destroying evil. If he gets a job here i want in. But in order to do that, we must first be released.

[Elfin]

"Indeed; Ivan seems to have more sense than I would expect from a young human. Let us gain exit from here, Lady, that we might further the cause of justice!"

[Ixahinon]

The elven lady smiles softly at the somber tune that flows from the instrument. After a moment of being lost in the melody, she begins to speak softly. Hmmm...stories of heroes beyond legend, and villains beyond words. I used to dream of being an antagonist in a story yet to be told. Indeed, my melodic friend, may still come into frutation. A soft sigh escaping her lips.

You are right, of course. There is a need for would be adventurers, but the task is not so much save the world, as a 'lend a hand, give a hand' type endeaver. And no...you are not forced to do anything. You are more than welcome to leave my eyes any time you wish, but do not expect to get far on your own.

To some, that could actually be considered an ultimatum, a long winded way of saying "You do something for me, and I help you in your needs. You don't, and while you are free to go..you will see you can't get far."

There is the door. stepping out of the way, and pointing up the stairs. And who's ever cat that is, do take it with you. He remains hidden in the temple library. And of course, if you are so gracious to lend a hand, remain here for further instruction, and discussion of payment.

Well i have decided already that, as I have nowhere important to be, that i will help in the combat of evil... and the payment doesn't sound to bad either.
Ivan says as he stops playing the music. He stands up and dons his chain shirt and rapier.

[Elfin]

"Threats will achieve naught with me, Lady, however veiled they are. And while I care not about payment; I shall remain here nonetheless, for it is my duty to defeat evil wherever the need so arises. Bestow upon me your request, and as long as no evil shall come of it you shall see it done. This I swear upon the Shield of Bahamut."

With that, Arzimon dons his chain shirt and his crimson cloak, and slings his sword at his side.

It would seam we are of a like mind Arimon. Perhaps we got off to a bad start.
Ivan offers his hand for a handshake.

Arzimon hesitates for a moment before reaching his hand out and shaking.
"Perhaps so. You seem to be a fine human; only one finer have I ever met. I would proud to be your comrade, Ivan Swiftsword; now let us endeavor to rid this island from evil."

Caeric hops gracefully off of the cot he was on and walks over to the dragon worshiper. Greetings follower of the Platinum dragon. My name is Caeric Zazzle, follower of Pelor, ally of Bahamut. I am grateful to Pelor that he has provided a likely ally in this unknown land. The Halfling extends his hand to the Paladin. Any viewing the halfling will notice it appears as if he is lit from the back, a halo of sorts.

I'll stay and help out as well. The Goddess has seen fit to send me here, so her objectives and your own must be one and the same.

Kelsin turns towards Arimon.

If you wish, I will travel with you and Ivan. I am sure we will more easily accomplish our goals by working together.

"Only a pride-filled human would call themselves a paladin. I am a warrior; a warblade of my lands. But hail and well-met, Caeric, servant of Pelor; I, too, am glad that Bahamut has blessed me with such allies as you and Lord Swiftsword. Now let us hear what this O'dea has to say to us."

"Quickly, it seems, this group is expanding..." Arzimon sighs. "Well, if Bahamut has placed me with you, then I would be foolish refuse your company... Kelsin, is it? Very well; we shall join forces."

We have yet to hear from two others in this room Arimon. We would be foolish adventurers indeed if we were to disembark without two possible allies.

"If you're sure, Ivan...come along then, Adem and Zeric."

Agreed sir, Spellsword is it? Forgive me for my memory for names the Halfling bows humbly. Although it seems I am not the only one. Forgive my forwardness sir Warblade, but my name is Caeric, though you may address me as Zeric if you wish

"To where my good man? The kind lady said to stay if we wish to help."

[Elfin]

"We owe nothing to her, why should we let that woman command us? I say we meet her on our own terms, instead of lying in this festering hole and waiting for her! Besides being unpleasant, it might put this woman under the mistaken impression that we are her servants."

Now now Arimon. There is no need to be hasty. Our chances of success in this endeavor will increase greatly if we have her full support.

She likely knows much more about this place then we do. It would be good to know someone who could tell us where the important things are Caeric says thoughtfully.

Arzimon sighs, and begins wiping dirt off of his shield and sword.
"Very well. We shall wait.
Hmmm...does anyone have a tale to pass the time?"

I am afraid I can not think of any currently. I must admit though Arimon, I was prepared for a fight when you tried to get past those guards. Perhaps I can play some music though?

Ivan starts playing his yarting.

[Elfin]

"Perhaps we might relate to each other the tales of our lives? It might be prudent to know such things, if we are to be companions."

Arzimon will begin, telling everyone of his life (which can be viewed on his character sheet). Obviously, though, he never shows himself in the wrong, and is fiercely patriotic when it comes to his tribe.

That is truly tragic. You have an immensely valid reason to be after the followers of tiamat.

Ivan proceeds to tell the story of the events leading to him leaving home and then the attack by the assassin.

I am sure if that assassin comes after me here he will find a rather difficult fight from us this time though.

As the elf points up the stairs. Zeric stands, goes to the chest and gathers his Items, and start to Don his equipment. At his nearest point to the female elf, Zeric stares deeply into her eyes and says in a deep gruff voice "You do not control my journey yet to come. And, to you I owe nothing but thanks for being imprisoned down here." After all of his equipment is in place Zeric starts to walk out of the room. Toward his 'freedom'.
