Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
And yes, we are still on Initiatives for the 4 person battle. It is Zaric's Turn..which I will NPC as per his demand.
Zaric (NPC'd):
There was no cry out in pain as the arrow found it's mark, there was no roar in defiance, or even a whimper as the arrowhead bit into his leg. There was only determination in driving an arrow into the orc's companion as he knocked back the weapon, drawing the bowstring back and muttering softly It is time for you to join your friend in the pits of hell.
Dice Rolls:
Spoiler
+3 Strength Composite Longbow against Orc2
Longbow - (1d20+3)[11](14) (Forgot to add in his Shifter bonus last time)
If Successful:
Damage - (1d8+3)[8](11) Piercing Damage
Another arrow strikes the orc square in the forehead, this projectile with enough force to drive completely through the skull, the bloody arrow plunging into a tree behind him. The Orc, seemingly unaware that it was just ran through with an arrow to the forehead, makes a few steps foward, before his body finally realizes it's own death.
Ivan's Turn:
OoC: The two orcs near you are unconscious from the magic. You can attempt a spot check for The Orc in hiding if you want, since you did see him fall back into the trees at start. All it takes is a Coup De Grace check (Displayed above) to kill the two remaining orcs. Have mercy on them :P /OoC

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
OOC:
SpoilerDo I need another diplomacy check with this? If so, (1d20+3)[7] Anyway...
I come as a messenger for the humans. I have two things to discuss. The first is to seek an alliance against the vile orcs. They are a menace to humans and lizardmen alike, and we think it would be the perfect time to eliminate them.
My second objective is to form a peace treaty with the lizardmen. Some of the other humans have no compassion, and were considering attacking you in a preemptive strike. If you were to sign a peace treaty, it would put the people at ease and keep you safe.

OoC:
Spoiler
Spoilers are a good idea for OoC..maybe I should follow my own rules :P.
No check neccessary. Diplomacy assumes the process is happening over a period of time.
For Kelsin's eyes only:
Spoiler
For your responses, please put them in spoilers as well, labeled for DM eyes only. So we can have some privacy. Considered taking this to PMs, but that might fill up a lot of space needlessly.
Hmm...humansss are always quick to violence. They are weak, and fighten easssily. A hissing sound was made as if to emphasis the words just spoken. Then the creature turned around, waving a hand for the cleric to follow as both lizardman would walk through the ankle deep swamp water, eventually revealing a large stronghold within the murk, perhaps 6 or more inches sunken into the ground.
The creatures spoke in their own language to the guards at the front gate, who cuatiously moved aside to allow both the two lizardmen, and Kelsin inside. The place was a wreck, inside, as expected when it is in the swamp. The tapestries are much to torn and moth eaten in order to make any guess as to where the stronghold originated. Kelsin is lead through another set of double doors, revealing a massive hallway, a wall standing an impressive 45 feet away from you, and the the length expanding at least 100 feet from end to end. As the lizardman lead you northeast through the inner courtyard, you see additional patrols of lizardmen walking about, a few of them looking at you with distrust.
Eventually, you are lead towards the back of the keep, lead through a door in the innermost wall, which leads you into what appears to be yet another guard's room; and form there a set of double doors to the south, which lead into what must be the 'throne room.' A very large and muscular lizardman sitting upon it.
My Lord. We encountered thisss ssssoft skin while on guard duty. He speaks of a truce between humansss and lizard-kind, as well as aid in eliminating the orcsss.
The king, seeming a wise and benevolent creature himself, leans to the left in his chair, placing his chin upon his left fist, waving the two guards that escorted Kelsin away. Sssspeak, human.

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
Ixa only:
SpoilerKelsin respectfully kneels in front of the king. He gets up, keeping his head lowered the entire time out of respect.
Good sir, the humans at Kreskalat are a bit uneasy. The war between you and the Orcs has left them wondering what to do, and some of the guardsmen are suggesting eliminating you and the orcs both. I do not know whether or not they have the capabilities to defeat you; I saw a good many guards in your city. However, I believe that if they did attack, there would be an unnecessary loss of life on both sides.
I have a solution. First, we should eliminate the Orcs, now. There is no reason to wait; every minute we wait is another minute for false rumors and plans to destroy you to circulate through the city. Secondly, a written peace treaty would be more than enough to keep the militia of Kreskalat from doing anything hasty.Last edited by Milskidasith; 2009-07-11 at 01:13 PM.

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
Arimon, scanning the party of orcs, is for a second frozen with fear; but uttering a soft prayer to Bahamut, he holds his gleaming sword high, and with a mighty roar charges at the two orcs in the front!
His blade, catching the sunlight, sweeps down upon the two dark creatures, rending the air as it falls down in a mighty arc! A howl of primal fury is unleashed upon the orcs, blasting off the elf's lips.

Ivan:
You don't appear to see any more hostile intent on the other side of the pond, but you remain ready nonetheless.
Rolls No One Should See:
Spoiler
IggysHide - (1d20+11)[2](13)
Huge Hide check at this level, but since they are in a stress free enviroment, they will find him eventually.
Adem's Turn:
You know that the orc's you blasted with the spell are not dead yet, and could still be a threat in the future.
OoC: Everyone can see
Spoiler
Not gonna update the map anymore. For the most part, there is no more combat. Two orcs are ready to have their throats slit, and one is no where to be seen.

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
Caeric will look at the two unconcious Orcs and say I believe we should tie or shackle these two Orcs while we search for Iggy. Perhaps the man with wings could help, he seems an adept tracker. Caeric will walk over near the branch Zaric is on and call Hello, excuse me, I believe we could use your help.

Kelsin's Eyes Only:
Spoiler
Now the sssssoft skinsss act. A slow chuckle coming from that pointy toothed mouth, as the king once again shifts positions in his throne. Tell me, human, are you acting on their behalf? Or isss this an an act from your Goddessss wishes?
I ssssuppossse it does not matter which. You come here offering asssistance, who am I to not at least lisssten? What would you require from me, if I were to aid in thissss endeavor? Would you undertake this task alone, for a reward? Do you require accompaniment?
Arimon:
Two orcs are immediately slaughtered under your quick attacks. Startled by the sudden attack, the orcs take a moment before each one draws a long bow. One of the orcs, apparently the captain of the squad, judging by his slightly better attire, speaks out in an orcish language. The rest of the orcs respond by knocking their bows with a blunt arrow, taking aim, and firing.
Dice Rolls:

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
OOC:Shouldnt we roll for initiative since that was just the surprise round?
Arimon looks on in horror as the arrows fly toward him; he feels the rush of wind as the volley pierces the air and approaches him.
Boromir style, Arimon lurches back as each arrow hits, his sword falling behind him. Stunned, he collapses backwards, thudding into the ground and releasing clouds of grey dust. Sharp pains stab at him as he sees the orcs coming toward him; he struggles to stay awake, blurriness reaching further and further into his vision, clouding up the world.
"Bahamut... protect... me...."
The words fall softly off Arimon's lips, and then everything is darkness.

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
SpoilerI do not feel that I could destroy the Orcs alone; a few soldiers for backup would make the task a great deal easier. As for a reward, I only wish for peace between the lizardmen and the humans. I will not turn down anything, but it would be disrespectful of me to ask for a reward for doing my duties.

Arimon:
OoC: You can Look
Spoiler
You are right, should have done initiative, but the best that would determine is that if you on, two more would die, if you lost, you would fall unconscious. If you really don't mind, we'll just play it out as it is, if nothing else, you killed a few more than two.
You will 'come to' when Kelsin makes his way to the orc encampment, possibly slightly before hand. But for now, take a breather.
Those of you at the pond:
OoC: You can Look:
Spoiler
I will send you guys total xp (RP bonuses, orc kills, returning/not finding/killing iggy) once you finish this 'side quest.' Or at least it has some point in which I feel you 'completed' (I.E Taken back Iggy, Left Iggy to rot, Ate Iggy, etc)
FOr now, since battling is over, you can all post freely, searching and the like.
Kelsin:
Spoiler
A selflesssss, and noble act for a soft ssssskin. I find this amusing, and will play in to thissss. The king speaks in his native tongue, and four other lizardman walk into the 'throne room.' The two you recognize as the guards that brought you in, large and muscular - clearly adept fighters, and the other two being females. Slim, curvy, and wearing little over their scale covered bodies. Both of them carry potions and various mystical items, leading one to believe they are either arcane or divine background.
You shall be accompanied by these four, to aid you in your task to eliminate the orcssss. I do not expect victory...but if you do live..return to me.
And with that, the king waves the five of you off. Your new group of comrades leading you quickly out of the keep, and westardly, toward the orc encampment.
OoC:
It will take you about 45 minutes to walk there in game. If you want to use this time to talk to your companions, go ahead..or just let me know to fast forward to the encampment.

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
Knowing that there are no imminent threats in there area Zaric flies from the tree branch runs across the field then before hitting the wood line again jumps into the air with another flick of his wings and does a routine check of the upper wood line surrounding the field.
Spoiler
Spot:
Spot - (1d20+2)[8](10)
Search - (1d20+1)[15](16)
If the area seems to be clear he will then fly back toward the pond in a great downward swoop. “They were looking for something in the pond” comes from the bat like creature, in his gruff deep voice, which then lands and returns to the rather hairy human for the group had seen before almost as soon as his feet hit the ground.

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
Ivan:
After looking extensively for the orc, you are quite certain that if you did not see him now, the coward must have run away. After witnessing such a slaughter, you couldn't blame him.
Adem, Caeric:
Caeric almost immediately notices a small blue figure completely submersed in one of the shallow parts of the ocean, trying to keep itself hidden from view, likely trying to hide from the band of orcs that was hunting it. Large red eyes stare up at you with a look that suggests fright, and for some reason, you can feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
Kelsin:
Spoiler
The party you are with finally comes up to the cave entrance that Arimon fell at. The party seems slightly confused as to why no one is at guard here, but proceeds with caution nonetheless.
Inside the cave proves simple enough to navigate, and completely without resistance, which only further brings about confusion with the lizardman, as they know there are often guards out here..something must have taken place.
The cave leads back out into the foliage once again, only this time, not 50 feet in front of you lies the orcish encampment. Before revealing yourself in the light, you can easily see five orcs guarding the entrance to the encampment.
I am working on a map for you.

Re: The Isle of Sahu (Good Party)
Everyone at the Pond:
OoC: Anyone can see.
Spoiler
Aww...no fun now that the secret is out. When I played this game on Table Top, no one knew what a shocker lizard was..kinda funny since it is MM1 material..the lizard knocked a guy unconscious. Since you guessed it, I'll just move this along.
It took a great deal of coaxing, and befriending the odd creature, but those dealing with the shocker lizard manage to do so without getting shocked. Caeric finally getting the idea to snatch a trout from the pond, and use it as bait to lure the lizard out of the water and to his hands.
Seeing Caeric as 'friendly' now that he gave him food, the lizard happily followed the halfling wherever he decided to go.
