GLoG XXXIV: It gets worse!

[Hyozo]

"I coul- can create creatures from the raw essence that makes up all life, or at least it did where I came from. The methods to acquire it there seem to do nothing here, and all of my variations have ended... very poorly." He actually seems to be calming down a bit, but he is still quite clearly angry.

[billtodamax]

"Try do small things first. It might be more resistant here." Says Susan.

[Hyozo]

"Believe me, I do. They don't work though. I've actually been wondering if my most recent failure may have been partially because of the nature of the first and simplest form I ever mastered."

[billtodamax]

"Which was?" Says Susan.

[Hyozo]

"It's a simple reptilian form infused with elemental fire which it can use as a defense mechanism. The last experiment ended explosively, and I have been wondering if that infusion was partially responsible."

[billtodamax]

"So, just creat the reptile?" Susan says/asks.

[Hyozo]

"It could work, but there is also another creature of similar simplicity, simpler in some regards, which doesn't need such an infusion in the first place. Perhaps that would be a better creation to test the experimental essence."

[billtodamax]

"Go ahead." Says Susan.

[Hyozo]

"I probably should make preparations in case I'm wrong first, and perhaps I should do it outside of the base. This is still only a theory of what may have gone wrong, and it doesn't solve the problem of any creation which would need the fire infusion."

((deadtime))

[billtodamax]

"Well, once you've discovered the problem it should be a lot easier to fix." Says Susan.

[Neon Knight]

Misaki undeadtimes.

She'll end up in the infirmary, a freshly made flower wreath next to her, sitting in a chair and sighing a bit as she watches the infirmary door.

Vlad undeadtimes and heads to the infirmary should NK wish.

Vlad is instead in the kitchen eating generic meat.

And now Quinn returns, her shoulders slumped, and looking generally sad.

[Neon Knight]

"Quinn!" Quinn finds herself quickly hugged by Misaki. "What happened? What's wrong?"

[The Bushranger]

Oof!
And Quinn, not expecting that, gets knocked clean over!
She can't help but giggle a little at Misaki, hugging her back, before sobering.
There was nothing there...

[Neon Knight]

Misaki looked at Quinn frightfully... tearfully, even. "S-scarlet? Irene?"

[The Bushranger]

I didn't find them. Quinn, looking defeated, shakes her head, then goes to hug Misaki tightly again.

[Neon Knight]

Misaki hugs Quinn tightly, not knowing what to say.

[The Bushranger]

I will, though, I promise... Quinn whispers, tears trickling down her cheeks. I promise. She sounds like she's trying to encourage herself more than anything else.

[Neon Knight]

"You will. I believe in you." Misaki wiped at Quinn's tears.

[The Bushranger]

Quinn manages a smile at that. Thanks, sweetie. That means a lot to me.
After a moment, she manages to stand. I need some rest after that...

[Neon Knight]

Miskai tugged on Quinn's arm in the direction of her room. "Yes, you should."

Or if she's injured, she'll tug her towards the Infirmary.

[The Bushranger]

Amazingly enough, Quinn came through this without any significant injuries.
The end is nigh!


She chuckles softly as Misaki drags her in the direction of her room. Aww, do I have to take a nap? she asks in a teasing tone.

[Neon Knight]

"Yes, you do!" Misaki stuck her tongue out at Quinn.

[The Bushranger]

Quinn laughs and shakes her head. Well, since you said so, I guess I have to, huh? Smiling, she pauses at the door to her room and beams at Misaki. You're pretty great, you know that?

[Neon Knight]

Misaki looked up adoringly at Quinn. "Not as great as you, though!"

[The Bushranger]

Not yet, but you will be.
Heartened by the faith of a child, Quinn smiles warmly and goes to ruffle Misaki's hair before slipping inside and to bed.

Misaki slipped into bed beside Quinn. She didn't sleep well while Quinn was away, and she easily falls asleep next to her.
