I was thinking of making a homebrew post apocalypse low magic desert setting and one of the NPC's is a Jack Sparrow esque Kobold Swashbuckler/Dread pirate who flies a floating ship with magical cannons that are akin to a rod of wonder (sometimes they shoot fireballs, sometimes, lightning bolts, occasionally elephants and from time to time they just make things change colour)

That's probably the coolest idea I've ever heard. Of course though, you have to replace the lame Jack Sparrow with "The Dread Pirate Roberts" from Princess Bride. Trust me on this.

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I've found someone who can replace Wind, AngelOmnipotent, who has decided to play a wizard. She won't be able to join for about a week or two due to moving, but we have to wait for Alteria anyway. We'll be playing in these forums once Alteria comes back, starting a new thread which I will post a link to, and starting in approximately the place we left off. You guys have left the mines, but Cleas has succumbed to some sort disease caught down there, and has died. The mayor has paid you your reward, and you are standing in the middle of the mining town on a bright Summer day.

So, Balthazar asked me to join your game, since you're shorthanded. I'm building my character, a Truenamer named Oliander Escalliant, and it said in the sixteen questions to make HP rolls, stat roll, etc. IRL and he'll trust us, so that's taken care of.

One thing, though. Balthazar, how do I generate a Birthingname or whatever you called it--the random word for my character? I can just get down a dictionary and open it to a random page, then choose a random word from that page...

Also, just rolled stats. And I thought the random number gods hated me...

Um, actually Kallisti, I asked you and another person, AngelOmnicient as well, in part because I wasn't even sure if you'd respond, and I like to be able to pick out of a couple people. So I'm fairly certain you will not be played, as decreed by the dice :(

"Decreed by the dice?" You roll to determine which players get in? It's okay, although I wish you'd told me this a little earlier, because I just finished building my character...

Now now there's no need for that, death is not the answer to everything torture also has its merits... besides were agreed that if any PvP takes place it must involve my guy using clutch of Orcus on somebody for some reason
