Re: Goodbye, So Long, Farewell II
"This is why it hurts the way it hurts.
You have too many words in your head.
There are too many ways to describe the way you feel.
You will never have the luxury of a dull ache.
You must suffer through the intricacy of feeling too much"

No explanations. I am leaving giant. Will be reposting the LGBT thread as needed, but otherwise...

Re: Goodbye, So Long, Farewell II
Oh, Jacklu! Whatever's making you leave, I hope it goes away! You'll be missed.
Hey guys! I know I said I'd be leaving (and thanks for your kind words ) but I'm gonna be back for the next couple of weeks! I've been pretty sick for a while, causing me to be absent from school too much (I don't really feel like going into that, it's truly not important. This isn't deadly or anything. Please don't worry about me, that bugs me when people do that.). So, I took the logical course of action and decided to go on Independent Study, which means I'll be at home, doing assignments given to me by my teachers, until November 15th. If the doctor hasn't figured out what I have by then, I get two more weeks, but none after that (because independent study is really not an effective way to learn, I guess). Especially with AP classes oh my god. Anyhow, I'll be free to post more often as I'll have a more relaxed schedule. I guess this is good, to give me a break from stress. Who knows? Maybe this lack of stress will have me feeling well enough to go back to school sooner than I thought."Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other."

Well. That's certainly one way to avoid being one of those wishy-washy not-quite leavers.

Re: Goodbye, So Long, Farewell II
As the sig says - my personal life is going to be shot to hell for the next month, and I'm going to have hardly any time for NaNoWriMo, let alone any other usage of the Internet.
I'm really upset to be leaving this fine community for the next month, possibly even longer, but I feel that anything less isn't something I could live with until this is all resolved.
To everyone I'm screwing over by leaving PbP games playerless (and, in one case, GM-less) - I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I hate to do this to you, and I hate myself for leaving you in the gulch.
(I'm trembling as I write this. Hellfire, I love this place more than I realized.)
Later, buddies.

Re: Goodbye, So Long, Farewell II
Hello again Playgrounders!
I'm back from my seven and half-week honeymoon in Europe.
The honeymoon was by and large excellent, with a few unfortunate inicidents just to make things a little more memorable (like our tour bus getting broken into while we visited the Vatican, and having to hike down a mountain on an Italian island when the chair-lift broke down).
Results in a nutshell: 17 countries visited in 52 days, consisting of around 60 cities, towns, and villages; more than two dozen cathedrals, churches, temples and tombs; 10 palaces; 12 castles visited (and many more seen from a distance); at least 15 museums and galleries; and too many monuments, fountains, squares, plazas, bridges, town halls, clock towers, and statues to count.
The highlights are just far too numerous to mention them all... walking around Stonehenge; visiting the British Museum and Westminister Abbey; touring the Lourve, Musee D'Orsay, and Musee Rodin in a single day; watching the sun set over Paris and Rome from the best vantage points in the cities; dining out in Monte Carlo; walking the Red Light District of Amsterdam; tobogganing in Switzerland; cruising the Rhine, Danube, and Seine rivers; swimming in the Greek Islands; visiting the haunting memorials at the death camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau; being serenaded by a gondoliers in Venice; listening to Strauss and Mozart in concerts in Vienna; watching Catalan gypsies dance and play Flamenco guitar in Barcelona; the list goes on and on and on...
I'm never doing a trip that big again.

Re: Goodbye, So Long, Farewell II
I'm back.
It's been a hard three weeks, and I'm not completely out of the fires yet, but things have become stable enough for me to return to the internet at large. So, here I am.

Re: Goodbye, So Long, Farewell II
So, after having gained a few offers from universities, and having got my grades up to a higher standard (still not perfect, but good enough for where I want to go), you're gonna have to deal with me again.
